3.4 Procedure
At the beginning of the research, the observations were occurred at the same period on two different days of each week including Tuesday and Wednesday from 16th of September to 30th of September for a total of 4 days. Each observation was scheduled for a 30 minutes at 10 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. In the first and second observations, researcher used the time sampling data sheet to record the frequency of problem behavior and determined the target behavior. After that, researcher used the ABC checklist in the third and fourth observations to identify the reasons and consequences of the occurrence of target behaviors. The interventions were planned to start on 6th of October to 20th of October for a total of five days. The duration of each intervention …show more content…
The time event sampling was used because it was important to know which problem behavior was occurred frequently. On the first day, student was having the cognitive lesson in the classroom. The duration of this lesson was thirty minutes and there were six students in this group. During this period of time, the researcher observed his behaviors and recorded the occurrence of problem behavior. The problem behaviors were divided into four types including stereotyped, aggressive, unoccupied and self-stimulating behaviors. The researcher monitored and recorded the frequency of the problem behaviors with the observational method which was time sampling. Each of the observation was scheduled for 30 minutes and the interval among the observations was 3 minutes. If the child displayed the certain behavior, then the researcher would like to put a circle and wrote down the numbers of the occurrences on the record sheet. On the other hand, a cross would put on the table when the child did not show the problem behaviors.
