- This lesson focuses on cardiorespiratory endurance and body composition, which are two of the 5 components of fitness. This lesson will allow students to understand what both components of fitness.
• Describe the students’ prior knowledge or the focus of the previous lesson.
- Students have briefly been taught the 5 components of fitness in second grade, but have little prior knowledge on the topic.
• Describe generally any critical student characteristics or attributes that will affect student learning (other than what you described in the Teaching and Learning Context).

- Students will understand what cardiorespiratory endurance and body compostion is, and how it relates to their overall health.
- Students will be able to correctly pass and shoot the gator skin ball.

Procedures
Describe the strategies and activities you will use to involve students and accomplish your objectives including how you will trigger prior knowledge and how you will adapt strategies to meet individual student needs and the diversity in your classroom.

1. First things first, students will enter the classroom and sit along the wall by the bleachers. During this time students will be briefed on today’s activities.
2. Wall of knowledge – 5 components of fitness
a. Cardio-respiratory Endurance - Students will learn that cardio-respiratory endurance refers to the heart and lungs working together to supply oxygen to the body during exercise.
b. Body composition – Students will learn that body composition refers to the amount of fat and fat free mass a person has in their body.
c. After meeting at the wall of knowledge students will participate in a activity that will increase their heart rate and aid in improving their cardio-respiratory endurance.
3. BAM Ball
4. At the end of class students will have the opportunity to get a drink and participate in the cool down activity.
5. Cool down – Students will participate in on the line of the line. When students make a mistake they will have to sit down. I will give them an opportunity to rejoin the game by asking them a review question from today’s lesson.
