Thawing like a frozen turkey on thanksgiving morning, shivering my whole body as if I’m having a seizer from my epilepsy after entering a strobe lighted concert. I stare at President Coleman with confusion and ask “what has just happened?” With the same confused look he says “I’ve been frozen this whole time, and apparently you have too.” “I thought you’ve been dead this whole time, how? And why are you still alive?” I ask proceed to ask the president. “It’s nice to see you too, but I faked my death, while I was in office there was a threat from an unknown force from the Comet Galaxy;” the presidents answer to my question. He begins to inform me that he faked his own death and froze himself, because he knew that whatever force was coming to attack the United States would take at least forty years to get here being that they’re all the way from the Comet Galaxy.
As we go to exit what was once known as “Ronnie Muscle Meats” it’s now just an abandoned warehouse full of ex-military weapons. I guess the president really had this whole thing planed out; he was ready for a war. All group of his super model bodyguards come rushing into the front doors of the warehouse, and see the president and instantly flock to him like a heard of sheep. All at once and in perfect harmony they say, “President you made it!” Then I asked the president how do they all still look so young the look as if they haven’t aged in these past forty years; he chuckles and says “those are my ex-super model bodyguards daughters.
Pew pew pew! , boom!; sounds of laser guns and grenades going off outside of the warehouse. With the craziest look in his eyes the president says to me and the super model bodyguards, “You all better be ready, because it’s time to fight for not only our lives but the freedom and lives of all the other Americans.” Following the president, we run through the double doors of the warehouse in a slow motion dramatic fashion; we all look to the sky and see that we’re in a fight with America’s worst fear. The president yelps at the top of his lungs “robots!” and starts shooting his semi-automatic mac-11. At that moment I knew we have just entered a war with the magnitude of WWII, with fear and anxiety I begin to blow heads off any robot in my way.
Making my way through the line of fire, I step on a landmine and not even with in a second I’m tumbling through the air from the explosion. All I can hear is silence for what seems like ten minutes, and then the president comes into my line of view and asks if I’m alright. He looks at me from head to toe and sees that I have no toes left from the landmine, I ask with all the strength I can muster, “help me.” With the condition I’m in the president says with no hesitation, “everyman for himself,” and takes off through the woods to save himself. I lay there in excoriating pain, looking down at my legs and seeing nothing left from the knee caps down, just blood pouring out like a garden hose.
As I lay there waiting to die, a hand comes down but this hand wasn’t made of flesh but made of bolts and screws. In a robotic voice sounding like R2-D2 from star wars, the robot says “I will help you.” I grab his hand in an act of desperation; he flies me to his ship. Lays me down on the robots operating table, all I can remember after that is a mask pumping anesthesia being placed over my face. Waking up from the anesthesia wearing off, I look down to my legs and see that they have saved my life and replaced my wounded legs with new robotic legs. Once I saw that these robots took me under their wing, and saved me even though during the war I was trying to destroy them. I made it a mission to one day find the president who I once called my friend, and destroy him for leaving me to die.

Batchelor Field Bombing History

...7. CHRISTMAS DAY AIR BATTLE The zenith of B-17C (40 2072)’s wartime service came during its last combat flight. On December 24, 1941 the plane departed from Batchelor Field on what became a dramatic mission. The pilot, Lt. Mueller, was later quoted saying: Christmas of 1941 was sort of sad for our side. Our guys in the Philippines were taking an awful beating from the enemy and were due to receive even worse at Bataan and Corregidore.24 At 10:15 on that morning, December 24, 1941, 40-2072, the lone surviving bomber of the Japanese attack on Clark Field, and the last one of the 30th Bomb Squadron's original nine Flying Fortresses left Australia with two other B-17s for the long trip north to the enemy endangered field at Del Monte....

...exercise 6 days per week, has a glass of one every evening with dinner, and is experiencing cold intolerance and fatigue, is iron-deficiency anemia. Iron deficiencies have been found to occur frequently in athletes and young adults who exercise excessively. Iron deficiency is common in those who exercise frequently because of the amount of iron that is expelled from the body through excessive sweating (Wouthuyzen-Bakker & Assen, 2015). Iron-deficiency anemia is common in vegetarians because of the lack of animal proteins consumed. Meats, including fish, red meats, and poultry, help the body absorb iron. Without consuming meat or supplementing iron through other foods or vitamins iron levels are often low in vegetarians (Beck, Conlon, & Kruger 2014). Fatigue and cold intolerance are common symptoms of iron-deficiency anemia (Lewis, Dirksen & Heitkemper, 2014). A full history and physical exam should be done for this patient in order to detect any other underlying causes. The patient should be assessed for other signs and symptoms of iron-deficiency anemia such as heart palpatations, shortness of breath, headaches, paleness, or pruritus. A complete blood count should also be done on this patient to determine the levels of serum ferritin (Callachand, 2015). One pharmacologic treatment option for iron-deficiency anemia is an oral iron supplement. By taking supplemental iron the patient will get the amount of iron needed to maintain normal blood levels that she is not getting from her...

Differences Between 18th And 21st Amendments

...The government was unable to prevent the illegal manufacturing and selling of “bootleg” alcohol. Over two-hundred million alcoholic beverages were transferred from brewing industries and bars to gangsters and bootleggers. The 21st Amendment was basically the aftermath of the failed Noble Experiment. Nowadays, each state sets its own rules for sale and importation of alcohol and the drinking age, but the federal law prohibits the sale of alcohol to minors, which are under the age of 21. The prohibition of alcohol, ironically increased crime activity like illegal alcohol businesses and black markets instead of decreasing it. One example of crime activity includes the St. Valentine Day Massacre. On February 14, 1929, four men, believed to be Al Capone’s henchmen, disguised as policemen and arrived at a garage in Chicago. They shot seven men, who were associated with Capone’s arch enemy, Bugs Moran. The event was the climax of a gang war between arch enemies, George “Bugs” Moran and ‘Scarface’ Al Capone. They competed for the control of smuggling and trafficking operations in the Windy...

Founding Fathers: The Dred Scott V. Sandford Case

...The judicial branch has primary roles that are put into play as its members make decisions for the country that influence the nation’s political fate, often times through court cases. The Clark v. Rameker (2014) case affected all of the financial advisors, not just those involved in the case (Feisee and Randall 57). Similar to this case, many court conclusions not only affect the people who are involved in the case, but they also affect other citizens and the nation’s political fate. One case that had an immense impact on the nation’s political fate was the Dred Scott v. Sandford (1857) case. With a present day view regarding the topic of slavery, it is clear that America’s fate eventually included the full equality of all men, no matter the circumstances. So, the Supreme Court’s decision influenced this fate immensely. The decision aroused strong feeling of both opinions of slavery, leading to the Civil War, and eventually leading to the freedom of rights for all people. Now, the once segregated country is being led by a man who is the same race as Dred Scott, President...

The Subprime Mortgage Crisis

...The Subprime Mortgage crisis ECO 2072 Principles of Macroeconomics In the beginning One of the first indications of the late 2000 financial crisis that led to downward spiral known as the “Recession” was the subprime mortgages; known as the “mortgage mess”. A few years earlier the substantial boom of the housing market led to the uprising of mortgage loans. Because interest rates were low, investors took advantage of the low rates to buy homes that they could in return ‘flip’ (reselling) and homeowners bought homes that they typically wouldn’t have been able to afford. High interest rates usually keep people from borrowing money because it limits the amount available to use for an investment. But the creation of the subprime mortgage opened a new door for those looking to accomplish the “American dream”. “Since, 1998 more than 7 million borrowers bought homes with Sub-prime loans. One million of those homeowners have already defaulted on their loans (Atlas , 2007). The of Rise Subprime Lending There are two types of mortgages in the U.S.: fixed-rate mortgages (FRMs), which allow a fixed amount of interest for the duration of the loan, and the adjustable-rate mortgages (ARMs) are loans with variable interest rates. Subprime mortgages are a combination of both FRMs and ARMs, because they provide for a fixed rate for the first 2-3 years as “teaser-rate”, following this period the interest rate becomes adjustable semi-annually (Kirk). Subprime mortgage is a type of mortgage...

...SPECIAL ARTICLE Postfertilization Effects of Oral Contraceptives and Their Relationship to Informed Consent Walter L. Larimore, MD; Joseph B. Stanford, MD, MSPH T he primary mechanism of oral contraceptives is to inhibit ovulation, but this mechanism is not always operative. When breakthrough ovulation occurs, then secondary mechanisms operate to prevent clinically recognized pregnancy. These secondary mechanisms may occur either before or after fertilization. Postfertilization effects would be problematic for some patients, who may desire information about this possibility. This article evaluates the available evidence for the postfertilization effects of oral contraceptives and concludes that good evidence exists to support the hypothesis that the effectiveness of oral contraceptives depends to some degree on postfertilization effects. However, there are insufficient data to quantitate the relative contribution of postfertilization effects. Despite the lack of quantitative data, the principles of informed consent suggest that patients who may object to any postfertilization loss should be made aware of this information so that they can give fully informed consent for the use of oral contraceptives. Arch Fam Med. 2000;9:126-133 Oral contraceptives (OCs) are among the most extensively studied and used medications in the world,1 and are accessible without a prescription in some countries, although still virtually unavailable in others. In America, OCs have...

Introduction The People’s Guide is a practical self-advocacy information guide and directory on how to get food, income, jobs and training, housing, health and dental care, legal advice, and other important help from local, state and federal programs and community services in Sacramento County. We don’t need to tell you these are hard times! Foreclosures, high unemployment, homelessness on the rise and the city, county, state and federal budgets either eliminating or making deep cuts to most of the programs talked about in this guide. These cuts mean less help for lowincome individuals, families, seniors and homeless people to access the these life-saving programs. It means reduced benefits, fewer workers, tighter eligibility rules, long lines and longer waits. not only is a self-advocacy guide to these programs, but also gives you advice on what you can do if your are treated unfairly or do not receive what you are entitled to by law. The guide is dedicated to helping all people overcome barriers when they are trying to get help. Politicians often use the money for other things than education, health, welfare and social services. But, when the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, the gap has very bad effects on our entire society. You can help close that gap.
