Everyday citizens walk the earth as criminals and some may not even know it. Frank Trippett in his passage, “A Red Light for Scofflaws” expresses how many people commit the scofflaws, meaning people who casually break the law. The author agrees with these small laws because they are simply there to protect and nourish society. He develops a strict tone that puts emphasis on the fact that these Scofflaws are still crimes being committed every day with no serious consequence. The foundation of social order is disturbed by those who do not abide by the rules. Scofflaws should be taken more seriously because without these there would be no order in our lives.
