What will this mean for me?

LO1-1 Analyze the process for making personal financial decisions.

Every person has some money. However, the amounts and individual needs and choices are diverse. You now have the opportunity to learn about varied financial paths for avoiding common money mistakes. Your knowledge and actions will move you toward financial security. Despite economic uncertainty, you will be able to use wise financial strategies in every stage of your life to achieve your personal goals.

LO1-2 Assess personal and economic factors that influence personal financial planning.
LO1-3 Develop personal financial goals.
LO1-4 Calculate time value of money situations associated with personal financial decisions. LO1-5 Identify strategies for achieving personal financial goals for different life situations.

my life e HOW DO I START?
One day, you may receive news that your aunt has given you a gift of $10,000. Or you might find yourself with an extensive amount of credit card debt. Or maybe you desire to contribute money to a homeless shelter or a hunger-relief organization.
Each of these situations involves financial decision-making that requires, first, planning and then taking action. The process you use should be carefully considered so no (or only a few) surprises occur. The main focus when making decisions is to avoid financial difficulties and legal troubles. How will you best plan for using your finances? For each of the following statements, select “yes,” “no,” or “uncertain” to indicate your personal response regarding these financial planning activities.

Holy Cow Narrative

...“Boring” I thought in my head judging fast. I turned to one of my cousins and said boring, but right then before they got a chance to answer the ride suddenly erupted like a volcano swaying VERY HIGH and FASTTTT!!! “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” everybody started screaming on the ride! The ride kept on going for a while until it slowed down and eventually stopped. When we got off the ride, we decided our next ride would be a actual roller coaster named “Wolverine Wildcat”. When we got there we realized the line was huge but decided to wait As we kept on getting ahead in line, I noticed their was a TV playing adds and stuff. I watched the adds until we got our turn which again seemed forever. We sat down on the roller coaster, buckled up and waited for the announcer to start the ride again. When he started the ride excitement came inside me waiting for the first drop to come. When we reached the peak of the drop the ride suddenly went so fast down the ride everyone screamed...

Data Modeling

...2. The Entity-Relationship Model 2. The Entity-Relationship Model This section’s goal: After completing this chapter, you should be able to explain the three phases of database design, Why are multiple phases useful? evaluate the significance of the Entity-Relationship Model (ER model) for DB design, enumerate the basic constructs of the ER model, develop ER diagrams (schemas in the ER model) for a given application, translate ER models into equivalent (as far as possible) relational models. Marc H. Scholl (DBIS, Uni KN) Information Management Winter 2007/08 48 2. The Entity-Relationship Model Introduction Database design (1) Overall goal of DBMS usage: Efficiently develop programs to support given real-world tasks. These programs need to store data persistently. To develop these programs, apply proven methods of software engineering—specialized to support data-intensive programs. Definition (Database Design) Database Design is the process of developing a database schema for a given application. DB design is a subtask of the overall software engineering effort. Marc H. Scholl (DBIS, Uni KN) Information Management Winter 2007/08 49 2. The Entity-Relationship Model Introduction Database design (2) The specification of programs and data is intertwined: The schema should contain the data needed by the programs. Programs are often easy to develop once the structure of the data to be manipulated has been specified. Data, however, is an independent...
