MODULE 4-HOMEWORK 2

Case 12-24 A. With an Ellucian ERP system you gain a community where students get the services they demand, faculty facilitate teaching and learning in the classroom or online, and departmental staff have the information and support to be more effective.
Specifically built for higher education, our ERP systems enable you to: * Automate admissions. Eliminate manual processes and save significant staff time by enabling prospective students to apply online through a self-service portal * Provide one-stop student access. Allow students to enroll, register, and pay for courses through the portal * Simplify records management. With a single system for all your data needs—and a single digital record for each student—any department on campus can find the student information they need * Engage faculty. Give faculty the means to enter and update grades, and have personalized access to timely, accurate, and institution-wide information * Manage resources. Manage personnel, funds and processes more transparently * Strengthen decision-making. Track the metrics you need to guide day-to-day operations, meet reporting requirements, and engage your organization http://www.ellucian.com/higher-education-erp/ B. If SU implemented this ERP, it could be a great success for the university, Admission Rates would triple, staff will grow which would cut down any heavy duties of the current staff, more grants to funds new programs, and more money leads to an updated campus or more dorms. The admission process would be the highly affected business process that would need a strong guideline and multiple staff for intake.

C. D. Yes, Linda may want to talk to other Deans and get their opinion on how to upgrade their ERP and how to effectively update the University status. An IT Consultant needs to advise Linda what network is needed to fulfill the university needs as well as an Accounting Consultant needs to advise Linda on how things would change once the ERP is implemented and how to keep the maintenance cost of the new system fair.

E. ERP Implementation should take no more than 90 days.

...Jose Cando ENGL-2327 April 26, 2014 Balcones Fiction and Poetry Winners Reading Event: Natalie Diaz’s Reading of When My Brother Was an Aztec Outside the ACC Theater on April 9th, the public was greeted by tables of refreshment including fruits cheeses and crackers which was a nice surprise. Although, I had expected a packed theater, only about forty people were waiting inside. The event started at 6:30 pm when Charlotte Gullick, the chair of the creative a writing department took the stage. After promoting some of creative writing classes at ACC, she described the significance of the Balcones prizes. A teacher from the English department took the stage next to talk a little more about the Balcones prize. He pointed out that Natalie Diaz was the sixteenth winner of this prize. He described Ms. Diaz as a woman with her foot “in three different worlds.” Her childhood was spent on the Mojave reservation in the California Desert. She attended college in Virginia on a basketball scholarship, and from there she played professional basketball in Europe and Asia. After injuring her knee, she left basketball to study poetry in graduate school. Therefore, he claimed, she has a foot in the worlds of the reservation, basketball and poetry. With that, he welcomed Nathalie to the stage. Nathalie jumped into reading her poem, “When My Brother Was an Aztec.” I was shocked to hear the bitterness and resentment in her voice as she describe her brother as a nasty and careless force which...

The Use of Non-Lethal Weapon: an Alternative Way on Arresting Felons

...Chapter 1 THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND The terms less-than-lethal, less lethal, and non-lethal are frequently and inappropriately used interchangeably. Almost anything can become lethal if used improperly or if circumstances are extremely unlucky; weapons that are considered to be of Non-Lethal force only decrease the odds of deadly injury. The court addresses the use of less lethal force in the “objective reasonableness standard,” where questions regarding excessive use of force are to be judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer coping with a tense, fast-evolving situation. (Graham, Conner, 2009) This revised standard alleviates some of the “Monday morning quarterbacking” that would otherwise result and respects that officers possess sound judgment skills. (Graham, Conner, 2009) In some arrest situations and other law enforcement activities, the use of force may be required to protect the safety of the officer or the public. Occasionally, the threat to an officer or the public justifies the use of deadly force an amount of force that is likely to cause either serious bodily injury or death to another person. (Graham, Conner, 2009) When use of force is required, but deadly force may not be appropriate, law enforcement officers may employ less-lethal weapons to gain control of a subject. Less-lethal weapons are designed to induce a subject to submit or to comply with directions. These weapons give law enforcement officers the ability to protect the safety of...

...Unethical Behavior Article Analysis ACC/291 The Sarbanes Oxley Act was passed as a result of plenty of corporate scandals. The purpose of this act was to protect investors and to provide them with accurate and reliable information, and to disclose all information that can affect an investor’s decision. Section 303 of the act requires senior management to certify the accuracy and reliability of financial statements. Access Assignment

...ACC 3300- Access Assignment Table: Customer, field name customer phone number. I placed a validation rule and a text rule where the area code of a customer’s telephone number can only contain 303 or 720. I did because I felt that the company was too small and did not have the resources to ship baskets outside Colorado. If the company should grow and expand and if revenue increases, the validation rule will no longer exist. Table: Custom Gift Basket Order/ Design, field name order date. One of the controls that I placed in this field was that the date needed to be entered in the system a specific way. I placed an input mask of the format for the date that I wanted the system to recognize. The format for the date is 99/99/0000, once a date is added to Access; Access will then rewrite it and display it in a written format of the date and the month. An example will look something like this 04/16/2013 will equal out to be Wednesday, April 16, 2013. Table: Customer, field customer name, customer address. Another control added to these fields is that a limit was placed on how many characters a field would contain; instead of having the limit that Access provides which are 255 characters in a field. I thought was too much and decided to shorten the length requirement. In the fields the customers name can only contain 12 characters and customers address is only limited to 50 characters. Basic information is needed from the customers; the company doesn’t need any explanations...
