Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a cognitive-behavior therapy (CBT) that employs six core psychological process of change to help clients attain psychological flexibility. ACT is a psychological intervention centered on modern behavioral psychology, including Relational Frame Theory. The general goal of ACT is to increase psychological flexibility. This theory utilizes mindfulness and acceptance processes, and commitment and behavior change processes, for the creation of psychological flexibility.
