During my life, I’ve always had a lot of hopes and dreams for my future. As it is known, in life, choices don’t always turn out the way that we, as humans, expect them to. Regardless of this, I have no regrets in my life. I am writing to explain my journey through life as well as all my decisions I had to make as a person.
I was born in a small town called Nicholasville, Alabama on July 23, 1966. I grew up there until the age of five, and I was the third of five children. I have two sisters and three brothers. My father worked in the logging business as a saw man while my mother was a stay-at-home mom. Our home wasn’t very fancy, but it was comfortable. Women Rights

...Most countries around the world have won the battle to provide universal primary education, but the picture is much more mixed at secondary and higher education levels, while policy also needs to keep a firm eye on ensuring the continuous improvement of the quality of education. Women are still less likely than boys to even start secondary education in Western, Eastern and Middle Africa and Southern Asia. Enrolment is less of a problem in OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) countries, where education is generally compulsory up to age 15-16. But men are more likely to drop out before completing secondary education, particularly in the high-income countries. As a result, in many countries across the world younger women are increasingly better educated than young men in OECD countries. In reading skills, for example, men lag behind girls at the end of compulsory education to the equivalent of a year’s schooling, on average, and are far less likely to spend time reading for pleasure. Men are ahead in mathematics but the gender gap is small compared to reading. But yet the women are still less likely to choose scientific and technological fields of study, and even when they do, they are less likely to take up a career in these fields – a concern given skills shortages in the workplace, the generally more promising career and earnings prospects in these fields, and the likelihood of positive spillovers from more skilled workers in these fields to innovation...

Student Intervention Project

...TEACHER HISTORICAL INFORMATION I’ve had 3 years teaching experience in the public school setting all of which have taken place at the middle school level, more specifically grades sixth and seventh. I began my teaching career as a physical education and health teacher, but I took and passed the Praxis II for Middle School Level Core Content Knowledge; this along with passing an Arkansas History collegiate course allowed me to add fourth through eighth grade mathematics, science, literature, and social studies to my teaching license. About three weeks into my first year teaching I was asked if I would be willing to teach science in addition to physical education to which I agreed. Since then I’ve either taught exclusively seventh and eighth grade science or a combination of physical education and science classes at said level. I also was the head coach for eighth grade girls sports and assistant for seventh grade girls sports which include: volleyball, basketball, and track and field. For this project I chose to concentrate on the interactions taking place in the science classroom setting as I feel it provides a more appropriate backdrop for this project. I feel like one of the more important qualities in both my personal and professional life is my ability to easily learn and process new information. This quality helped me immensely when I began teaching science because I had very little experience teaching in the classroom setting (just a semester of student teaching health)...

Employment Law

...Employment Law at its Best Delilah Sweetbriar’s ever-changing specifications of her workplace environment, and consequently her ability to perform the necessary duties of her job, have put Vic Cranker and Acme Loans into a serious predicament of whether or not to fire Delilah. Mr. Cranker must be aware of everything concerning employment law, whether he is legally permitted to fire Delilah or whether her ever-changing specifications are acceptable (by which Mr. Cranker would be legally irresponsible in firing her). Discussed further will concern Delilah’s and the other Acme Loans employee’s rights as employees (as put forth by the Family and Medical Leave Act), what rights Acme Loans has in this situation and under what circumstances such employer is legally permitted to terminate an employee, disability rights in the workplace, and the determination to what direction Acme Loans should move pertaining to the situation with Delilah. One of the most significant pieces of legislation that structures employment law is the 1993 act of Congress entitled the Family and Medical Leave Act (hereafter “the FMLA”). The FMLA, which was signed into law by then President Clinton (after many failed attempts by Congress to have the previous President Bush to do so), is the main, if not only, source of family leave legislation that is encompassed in law today. It was enacted to help families balance the burden of the workplace with the needs of family (“Employment Law” 605). The FMLA is composed...
