Engineering gives one the possibility to shape the entire world 10. Furthermore, it only takes one snowflake to start a blizzard 10. My AP Calculus teacher, Chad Halsted, has always been there to motivate me in my past to become an exemplary student 21. As a result, I have been able to see great achievements that have started a hunger to accomplish more, and this hunger will allow me to work my hardest in the pursuit of an Aerospace Engineering Degree and ensure myself a stable, fulfilling future 44.

During my high school career I have been blessed with many achievements, from the honor roll, to class awards, to first team all league awards 25. However, one is superior to the rest 7. The achievement that I am most proud of is my invitation …show more content…
Western is an instate, affordable college that has shown a great interest in me with their greatest scholarship offer, the Medallion Scholarship. Aside from financial reasons, Western Michigan University is the college of choice because they posses a good engineering program and that is the field of my choice. I toured their engineering building and found it to be a place that I would enjoy to be in everyday of my college career. I am planning to major in Aerospace engineering while at Western because it is something that draws my interest. When looking for a major I wanted to choose something that I could definitely see myself doing for the rest of my life and Aerospace engineering stood out to me. Engineering puts my interests and skills in math and science into one thing allowing me to incorporate both into my major. While I have had no experience with engineering I do have influence to become an engineer. My father is an engineer and I am aware that he is content with his job and what he earns from his job by means of money and respect. Knowing that I will have a respected position on top of earning a good check is enough incentive for me to become an engineer. At Western my study habits will consist of me doing what is necessary to get the best grade possible. Thus, I will balance my studies and outside activities the same ways I always have. Throughout high school I have played

However I don’t possess most of these traits. Maybe that gives a little foreshadowing to my self-esteem, which I’ll admit isn’t quite at the top of the pack. ...Task 1 I finished my A-levels, determined that what I wanted to study was shoe design. Having taken mostly artistic subjects during the 2 years of my a levels I had an objective to go to university and study this course, because I liked art and being creative, although I was not sure what I could do with my degree after I completed it. Taking a year out to work at Travelex helped me to gain insight into business management and marketing and find out more about myself; learning about things that interested me and were not just school related. After consideration, I decided that a marketing degree was necessary to further my career prospects and build my career on, opposed to my original plan of going for an artistic course. In three years’ time this degree will help me to find a job within marketing by giving me the knowledge that I need to progress further in a field that is very competitive, allow me to project ideas and thoughts in an effective way, and also challenge me not only academically but also creatively. This will then help me to progress further in this field by enabling me to apply everything I learnt and gained whilst studying this course. Task 3 | | Outside | Inside | Positives | Emotional | Emotional factors outside of university: being able to listen, your self-esteem and confidence within your working environment and when out, being sympathetic and showing empathy towards your friends and colleagues and also customers. ...Cover Letters and other career correspondence Your letter is your introduction —it continues or starts a conversation about work or education Just as you start a conversation by introducing yourself, a résumé should always be sent with an accompanying letter. Picture yourself sitting face-to-face with a person doing work that is interesting. What would you say? What do you want to ensure they know about you before you leave the room? Your letter is a chance to make a great first impression or continue a conversation that has already been started. Your letter is something employers expect —it shows your professionalism and helps them get to know you Every time you submit a résumé, you should attach an accompanying letter. Even if they don’t specifically request it, employers expect documentation from you that shows your professionalism and potential contributions. What better way to start than by using a cover letter? Your letter should clearly show the match —it illustrates the connections between you and the work Some employers scan your résumé first, while others start with the cover letter. To increase your chances of being invited to an interview, ensure that both documents clearly show the match between what the employer needs and what you can contribute. Once you have made the match, remember that the letter is your chance to stand out as an individual from the many other qualified applicants. Include information that supports and points to your résumé, without...

The son of a little-educated boat-owner in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, he had an unparalleled career as a defence scientist, culminating in the highest civilian award of India, the Bharat Ratna. As chief of the country's defence research and development programme, Kalam demonstrated the great potential for dynamism and innovation that existed in seemingly moribund research establishments. Spiritual and Educational Needs Satisfaction of Mechanical Engineering Students of Lyceum of the Philippines University

...the clock radio that wakes you up, and the car, bus, or bike you take to school. You use calculators, computers, stereos, and phones throughout the day. Finally, you come home and use the microwave, stove, refrigerator, and electric can opener as you help with dinner. Our lives are a lot easier today, thanks to the mechanical engineers who imagined and built these tools. In a world where we depend on machines more than ever before, mechanical engineers keep things running. Mechanical Engineering is one of the broadest professions. The women and men in the mechanical engineering profession work in almost every industry, in private practice, in government, in medicine, in law, and in universities. Mechanical engineers touch almost every aspect of technology. They create machines, products and technological systems that benefit society. Their work can take them around the world - anywhere there are machines, there are mechanical engineers. The above statements prove that mechanical engineering is not an easy profession. This is the reason why we should consider the spiritual and educational needs. Spirituality means different things to different people. Some persons have religious needs. Spirituality can refer to an ultimate or an alleged immaterial reality an inner path enabling a person to discover the essence of his/her being; or the “deepest values and meanings by which people live.” Educational needs, on the other hand are those that has something to do with their attitudes...

...model that is chosen to incorporate the change, depends on the change to be made and the size of the organization that is involved in the change. While wanting to make big changes in the Boeing Corporation, Team A has decided to utilize Kotter’s Eight Step Change Management Model. Kotter’s model is one of the best known change management models and has been around since the mid 1990’s. It was first published in the Harvard Business Review and has since been included in two books, “Leading Change” and “The Heart of Change” (Palmer, Dunford & Akin, 2005). There are eight steps and each step has its own set of actions to follow. Step One: Establish the need for urgency The purpose of the change The elimination of outsourcing the engineering duties to different countries around the world will increase the internal communication within the department. The lag from time differences in the various locations caused inefficiencies in design initiatives, product changes and issues needing immediate input from the central corporate office. The elimination of the communication lag will help to increase the problem-solving ability (BDC, 2015), create closer ties within the department, and contribute to improving the initiation of product changes. Consolidating personnel in one country will increase the capabilities of Boing with real-time...
