Assam is located on the eastern side of Himalayas. It comprises the Brahmaputra Valley, Karbi Anglong with an area of 78,440 km2. The Assam comes under tropical monsoon rainforest climate region . Assam is one of the areas which could not get benefitted from green revolution. Here farmers are still using TVs seeds in the large area. The yield (kg/ha) is quite low in this region also. The yield of TVs in 2003-04 is 1399 kg/ha which is increased to 2249 kg/ha in 2010-11 whereas for MVs yield was 2220 kg/ha which increased to 2785 kg/ha. The per ha yield is quite low if compared with national average. The fluctuation over period shows that per hectare productivity of MVs is higher than TVs seeds.

BIHAR Bihar is a part of the eastern state of India. Agriculture plays a very important role in the development of the state as more than 70 percent people are still engaged in primary activities. This region comes under very fertile area because so many rivers pass through this region. The region is the largest producer of vegetables and second largest producer of fruits in India.Paddy is a staple food for the region and it grows in most of the part of the state.

In Bihar area under TVs are more or less stagnant, it is not showing some significant change. In 2000-01 the areas under TVs of Paddy is 52.5 percent whereas it reached to 49.2 percent in 2008-09, but it shows a sudden decline in 2010-11 and reached to 29 percent of the total paddy cultivation under traditional seeds. The result is fluctuating that we don’t generalize and say something. The area under HYV seeds of paddy are slightly reducing in Bihar between 2000-01 to 2010-11, it can also understand that the diversification of crop may be taking place in the
