“Matched” is a romance and dystopian book written by Ally Condie and is a New York Times bestseller. Cassia Maria Reyes lives in tightly-controlled society run by the government. In her society, when people reach the age of seventeen, they undergo a process where they get matched with their life partners chosen by the Matching Department of the government. The process is where you will stand upon a screen where your partner’s face will appear and the partners are usually either from a different town or a province. Cassia and her parents attend her Match Banquet and she gets chosen to be together with Xander, her best friend. After her banquet was finished, she opens up her mircocard where it will show information about Xander, but a moment later, another face shows up on her screen and it isn’t Xander. …show more content…
