According to Wikipedia, “power is the ability to influence or control the behavior of people. The term authority is often used for power perceived as legitimate by the social structure. Power can be seen as evil or unjust, but the exercise of power is accepted as endemic to humans as social beings”. I agree with this quote, because that is a statement that both Macbeth and Hitler lived by being the power hungry leaders they were. Macbeth in the beginning on Shakespeare's play was decent man, he was a noble soldier. In the first act, Macbeth is described by Duncan as a kind and brave hearted soldier. ”Like valor’s minion carved out his passage, Till he faced the slave; Which ne'er shook hands, nor bade farewell to him, Till he unseamed him from the nave to th' chops,” (Act 1 Scene 2 19-20 ). The types of outcome measures were self- report, standardized measures of suicide, including attempts. Coding sheets for each study included information on sample, intervention, and methodological characteristics. All statistical analyzes were performed with NCSS 2007 statistical and power analysis software, which is a multi-purpose statistical package with procedures for conducting meta-analyses. A total of 17 studies met the inclusion criteria for this review. Study designs included 7 quasi- experimental and 10 experimental designs and involved a range of interventions. Participants were around 15 years of age. A majority of the samples were Caucasian, however, some studies had subjects that were primarily of ethnic minorities. The results concluded that there was insufficient evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of interventions for those who had committed acts of deliberate self-harm.
