Data Mining

...Gel electrophoresis Gel electrophoresis is a method for separation and analysis of macromolecules (DNA, RNA and proteins) and their fragments, based on their size and charge. It is used in clinical chemistry to separate proteins by charge and/or size (IEF agarose, essentially size independent) and in biochemistry and molecular biology to separate a mixed population of DNA and RNA fragments by length, to estimate the size of DNA and RNA fragments or to separate proteins by charge.[1] Nucleic acid molecules are separated by applying an electric field to move the negatively charged molecules through an agarose matrix. Shorter molecules move faster and migrate farther than longer ones because shorter molecules migrate more easily through the pores of the gel. This phenomenon is called sieving.[2] Proteins are separated by charge in agarose because the pores of the gel are too large to sieve proteins. Gel electrophoresis can also be used for separation of nanoparticles. Gel electrophoresis uses a gel as an anticonvective medium and/or sieving medium during electrophoresis, the movement of a charged particle in an electrical field. Gels suppress the thermal convection caused by application of the electric field, and can also act as a sieving medium, retarding the passage of molecules; gels can also simply serve to maintain the finished separation, so that a post electrophoresis stain can be applied.[3] DNA Gel electrophoresis is usually performed for analytical purposes, often after...

Chevrolet: Green Marketing to the Youth Market Chevrolet, which is referred to as Chevy, was founded in the early Twentieth Century. Chevrolet produces American cars and is sold by most automotive markets worldwide. After Chevrolet’s inception they were then bought over by General Motors. The Chevrolet products that are introduced to the market are aimed to adapt to the American consumer, and the consumer’s ever changing social changes and the consumer’s values and trends. With that said Chevrolet has invented a green car that adapts to the world’s trend of “going green”. A green car is a motor vehicle that produces less harmful impacts to the environment than the regular car that consumers have been used to. A green vehicle can be powered alternative fuels, which essentially decreases the pollutants that are exerted into our environment. There are several options for purchasing a green vehicle they are electric and fuel cell-powered, hybrid, and compressed air. Chevrolet’s has many loyal customers however; Chevrolet wants to focus on more of the younger population to buy their green cars. In specific Chevrolet wants to market to the Gen Y generation, which has been identified as the younger generation that are of 18-30 years old. In the 21st Century our world is always changing. Conclusion …………………………………………………………………………… References Executive Summery  Pike river coal mine was operated by Pike River Coal 46 km (29 mi) north-east of Greymouth in the West Coast Region of New Zealand's South Island.   Pike River Coal Company Ltd (Pike) was formed in 1982 and acquired by New Zealand Oil & Gas Ltd (NZOG) in 1998 as the major shareholder. It was initially expected to produce around one million tonnes of coal per year for around 20 years, making the mine the second-largest coal export mine in the country, as well as the largest underground coal mine of the country. Because of various technical glitch and poor forecasting of the management, the whole project was delayed. The Delayed timeframe, lower production rate of coal has increased the financial pressure as it was proven to be as over-promised and under-delivered. On Friday the 19th November 2010 an underground explosion occurred at the Pike River Mine that resulted in the deaths of twenty- nine men. Over the ensuing nine days, three more explosions propagated through the mine...

...Executive Summary This report aims at providing an overall analysis of the repayment behavior of the SME loan borrowers of Brac Bank Limited. Before going to the analysis, it is mandatory to know something about the organization, its core products that it offers to its customers; about the SME loan, its classifications and the whole of its process starting from loan sanction to recovery and closing of the loan. That’s why, first of all, I made an overview of the organization, BRAC bank Limited, where I had completed my internship program. Here I tried to focus the bank’s history of origination, its mission and vision, major departments and business units and major products and services. Then I said something about Asset Operations Department, the department where I was to perform my job responsibility. SME is the next section where I gave my concentration. Here I focused on the terms and conditions of giving SME loan, enterprise selection criteria and documentation. Then talked about the procedure of SME loan where I delineated the sanction, disbursement, repayment and closing of SME loan. After talking about the whole process of SME loan, I made an attempt to analyze the repayment behavior of SME loan borrowers. For this end in view, I have collected information about 20 SME borrowers. Then I have chosen eight major variables which have an impact on the recovery rate of SME loan. That is, these are the variables which may change the repayment behavior of SME borrowers...
