In the ER everything happens simultaneously. As a nurse taking care of Amira, I would prioritize my care and stress on Amira’s safety. In our hospital, we use the blue phone to communicate with patients who do not speak English. Therefore, obtaining the phone will be my priority. From there, care will be directed to pain management, whole body assessment with the accent on the abdomen and genitourinary system. As mentioned above, all actions happen at the same time in the ER so that labs will be drawn, and full work up will be done. Also, one of the priorities will be to control the bleeding and find the cause of the bleeding.
