When you see my little brother you would probably think that he is a nice smart boy because he has good grades and usually helps his teachers and our parents when they ask. But most of the time, that’s not him. At home he’s really annoying and loud when playing on the PS4 with his friends by yelling and laughing all the time. He is not very kind to our little sisters always teasing them and distracting them while they’re trying to work. Even though that is an example of something that looks good but is actually bad, there are also situations where it’s bad but is actually good. Rodman Philbrick gives multiple great example of this in his book Freak the Mighty.

Max, one of the main characters from Freak the Mighty, is introduced as “a stupid butthead” who is “growing about an inch a day” and who thinks of himself as unable to learn and too stupid for school. But when he meets Freak, he starts to learn more than he thought he could.Freak teaches him how to read, do math, and many more things he wouldn’t be able to do if it weren't for Freak. At the end of the story Max says, “And now that I’ve written a book, I might even read a few.” which shows that he …show more content…
He is not actually mentioned very much in the book until about three quarters into the story, but when he is not there he was known to be in jail and in there for something really bad. He is described by Max as “as tall as me, only wider everywhere,” “I know what they told you, it’s all a big lie, you understand? I never killed nobody.” is what Kenny tells Max after kidnapping him and bringing him to the new testaments, but later he cracks Loretta Lee’s neck and tries to kill Max after realizing that Max saw him kill his mother. Even though he kidnapped Max, he still swore on the bible that he didn’t do anything to be put in jail.
