Anime: Postive or Negative?
Wazzup Pilipinas!

Japanese Animation, or mostly known as Anime spreads rapidly across the globe carrying the culture of Japan with every series and seasons. The appeal of Anime has become a worldwide phenomenon.

It starts in 1960 and gained popularity in the following years. With so many people interested in it, had the thought of its effects crossed your mind? Yes? Well, good for you. No? Well, don’t worry about it, that’s why this article exists. Now, shall we start?
SOCIALIZING
First of all is the social interaction. Anime help us interact with each other, especially when two people are in the same fandom, since the most problem in making friends is the topic they would talk with one another, and having no topic would make things awkward. This may imply to people who are having difficulties in socializing and making friends. Some people would go to the internet and share and discuss their favorite anime and the first step in making internet friends. At anime conventions, people interact by cosplaying their favorite characters. Friendship, romance, and even marriage may start from anime.

INTEREST IN ART
People who have interest in anime pursue in the field of art. They desire to draw their favorite anime character. Even people who don’t have much that of a talent in drawing excels by trying their best and keeps on practicing different styles until they found their own style.

EDUCATION
Many people may think that anime may ruin a person’s school grades, probably some failed, but the truth is anime give ideas to the students since it gives a lot of stock knowledge and facts. It also gives ideas of what the Japanese culture would be like and enriches our view about Japan. Anime also gives us ideas like ‘what would happen if’ when the series is finished which enhance our creativity and writing skills when writing fan fictions.

Those were some of the positive effects of anime in our daily lives. All of those are quite healthy and productive for our life. But everything has their negative side, even anime that this article would tackle.

BEHAVIOR DISORDERS
Some people with behavioral problems may get ideas from anime. It may be cause by the videos they had watched and have thoughts like ‘if he can do it why can’t I?’ which mostly leads to behavior disorders and ruin one’s personality. This also covers the addiction of a person towards an anime, neglecting everything, e.g. eating, hygiene, etc., and imitating anime characters to the extent that they want to copy its life. The scary thing that may happen is that a person can no longer determine which is reality and fiction. There was one article that I read that a boy commits suicide by jumping out of his window due the death of his favorite character which is plainly insane and not normal.
DISCRETION
Not all anime is suitable for all ages. Some may cointain violence, gore, swearing, suggestive themes, and sexual themes, but in our generation this were easily brush off. The effect of this may cause early sexual activity, drug use, and other violent stuff.

Pornography in Media

...Pornography’s Effect on Sexual Crime Rates Overview: Our Research Topic Be it in film, magazines or even fiction, pornography has always been a controversial topic. It is many things to many people: a guilty pleasure, a shameful addiction, a stress relief, foreplay, an obscene creation or even a vulgar pastime. However, as time passes, pornography is becoming decreasingly taboo, and this could result in a significant impact on societal values and perceptions. Introduction: Questions and Objectives Long has there been war between those who are for pornography and those against it. Is pornography harmful or harmless? Just what are the effects of pornography on society? Is it just simply a harmless way to release pent-up lust or does it play a big role in shaping society? Could minutes of watching pornography a day affect society in a big way - say for instance, the rates of sexual crimes like rape, molest and sexual harassment? In this essay, we will attempt to prove that there is a strong and direct correlation between pornography and sexual crimes by critically examining the arguments provided before we draw a conclusion. Our hypothesis is that, indeed, increased pornography viewer-ship will cause a rise in sexual crimes. This is an easy conclusion to draw, as one would expect those who frequent pornography to be more sexually imaginative, active and accepting as compared to people who would normally not watch pornography. We are tackling...
