Project Background

Bicycles To Go is a manufacturer of specialized bicycles and bicycle parts as well as bicycle accessories, which are sold to bicycle manufacturers and various retail outlets. Their head office is in Melbourne, which is also the headquarters for their main sales office. They are spread across various regions of Australia and have recently added a manufacturing division in China. Until now all the separated offices and manufacturing plants for Bicycles To Go have acted independently and the information is separate to each office.

The rapid growth of IT applications in the business world generates a requirement for Bicycles To Go to integrate all office’s data, inventory, and customer data by making a common database to run the business processes efficiently and achieve the set goals faster. Furthermore, due to the increase in demand of online portals of various businesses in the market, it generates a need for Bicycles To Go to create their presence digitally for their Sales and Services, which is one of the business driver that we will deliver in our project from the business drivers formulated by the company to meet their expectations.

The following are the objectives which we intent to deliver through this project in order to meet expectations of Bicycles To Go :

* Creating an online platform for the company to sell their products which enhances the business process and give a competitive edge in the market * To achieve the above step we need to integrate all the company’s data into a central data repository by implementing ERP system which will help in standardization of business processes across the locations and bring transparency into business, i.e. stock levels, vendors, accounts payables/receivables
