...What is APA Style? The acronym “APA” stands for “American Psychological Association.” The APA is a professional membership organization, whose members work or have degrees in Psychology. Many years back, some leaders in this organization created a format for papers, so that they would be more readable. Their style caught on with non-psychologists, too. Eventually, APA Style became widely used, especially in colleges and universities. APA Style is a format for writing papers. This format describes proper margins (one inch at the top, bottom, left, and right sides), the font size (12 points), the font types (Times New Roman or Arial fonts only), and the spacing (papers are double-spaced). In addition, there are formats for the title page (see example) and for the list of sources used for a paper (called “citations” or “references” or “reference list”). This handout provides examples, so that you will know what the standards are for papers at the university level. In case you feel you need extra help, here are links to the Writing Labs or Writing Centers of other universities. ...Psychological Association [APA] Style Guide for Writing Introduction Students of Grand Canyon University (GCU) are required to use the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.) for preparing written assignments, except where otherwise noted. All students should have a personal copy of the APA Publication Manual, which is available through the GCU Bookstore or local bookstores. In the interest of providing resource material for student use, this guide to APA style and format has been developed and made available. It is based on the current 6th edition of the APA Manual. However, the guide only highlights aspects of APA style and format, and so it is recommended that students use the APA Manual as a resource when writing APA-style papers. An APA template has been provided in the Student Success Center’s Writing Center for student download and use. PLEASE NOTE: The curriculum materials (Syllabus, Lectures/Readings, Resources, etc.) created and provided by GCU in the online or Web-enhanced modalities are prepared using an editorial format that relies on APA as a framework but that modifies some formatting criteria to better suit the nature and purpose of instructional materials. Students and faculty are advised that GCU course materials do not adhere strictly to APA format and should not be used as examples of correct APA format, or in place of the APA Manual, when preparing written work for class. What specific marketing program decisions would you recommend? Should Gillette be worried about its pricing strategy? Explain. A paper format around 3-4 pages following appropriate APA Style format is required.  See rubric for grading.  Citations and references are required to reinforce your comments and ideas (looking for at least 2 additional credible sources than the textbook).  Also add a Reference Page (practice using APA style). Avoid using 1st person style writing.  Instead or using I, substitute with this author or avoid using a specific reference.  For instance, Starbucks coffee tastes great; instead of “I think Starbucks coffee is great.”   When referencing your sources in your case study include the author and year of publication.  For example, “WalMart’s everyday low pricing strategy differs from Kohl’s high/low pricing  in the following ways…” (Williams, 2012). This helps to ensure everyone is using citations and practicing their APA formatting and using course materials that supports your perspective.  Due date | Sunday, January 10, 2016, 10:55 PM...

...A documentation style is a standard approach to the citation of sources that the author of a paper has consulted, abstracted, or quoted from. It prescribes methods for citing references within the text, providing a list of works cited at the end of the paper, and even formatting headings and margins. Different academic disciplines use different documentation styles; your instructor may require you to use a particular style, or may allow you use. Furthermore, documentation styles allow you to give credit for secondary sources you have used in writing your paper. Citing sources not only gives credit where it's due, but also allows your reader to locate the sources you have consulted. In short, the reader of your paper must be able to use the information you provide, both in the text and in appended list(s), to duplicate the research you have done. The APA style manual is used in the behavioral and social sciences. It is a clean, clear, simple style of presentation with its own set of rules of punctuation, headings, chart structure, and citation of sources that is used world-wide. The APA approach covers all aspects of writing. It guides the structural and stylistic components of all papers. The scientific paper attempts to show something that has already been verified true, so it calls for the past or present perfect tense when you cite the work of others. Plagiarism is using somebody else ideas or words without properly acknowledging the original source. Plagiarism includes the...
