Abstract

The paper enumerates in detail on a human service issue on the basis of its relation to change, advocacy and leadership. The illustration helps a reader to understand ways that can be utilized to counter challenges and create results that are worth the needs of the firm or society in question. The human service being discussed in this perspective is improving the economic chances of people and family members as well.

Applying Change, Leadership, and Advocacy Theories and Processes to Societal Issues

Improving employment is an issue which is derailing the development of the society, especially on matters associated with societal challenges. The issue affects the society negatively whereby people are not being employed based on their qualifications and skills, but rather through negative means like corruption. Improving employment for individuals and families entails creating jobs and offering funding for them, so as to create a positive outcome. Glicken (2008), indicates that training and teaching are strategies meant to be utilized in a friendly manner with the objective of getting rid of employment challenges within a society. Therefore, the societal issue, i.e. improving employment of individuals and families through creating jobs and offering funding for business is fundamental for the discussion because it suggests ways that can be utilized to counter poverty within the community and the lives of the citizens a better and comfortable way of living. Additionally, expert recommendations that takes capitalizes on how to improve employment will be enumerated with the objective of assisting the society live in a much better atmosphere.

On matters associated with leadership, the society needs to be taught on the social issue mentioned in the above paragraph for positive results to be attained through the expert recommendations that will be enumerated in the following paragraph. It has to be noted that the recommendations are meant to capitalize the social issue with ease and professionalism. Some of the expert recommendations that can be taken into consideration are:

1. Offering free training lessons as a way of luring individuals in the society into the program.

2. Creating leadership among the community whereby members would be tasked with the objective of leading a number of group members (Toussaint-Comeau et al., 2009).

3. On issues related with advocacy, individuals and family members have to be supported on the basis of legitimacy and not favoritism. The approach would encourage more members to join such groups that are meant to improve the economic status of the society.

4. Team work is another approach that can be utilized within the community as a way of bringing members together to discuss on ways that can help in developing the economic status of the society.

The proposed approaches are fundamental because they are designed to be utilized in a manner that will improve the living standards of individuals and family members respectively within the society. Moreover, the recommendations need to be practiced to the latter, so as to generate results that are effective and fundamental on aspects associated with improving the living standards of individuals and family members (Glicken, 2008).

In order to apply change theory and process to implement the expert recommendations made above, an advertizing event via flyers and Facebook can be utilized to sensitize the community as a whole on what needs to be initiated, so as to improve the economic opportunities for all. The theory of leadership can be undertaken via the creation of strong and professional personnel with enough experience whose task would be to authorize members on what needs to be practiced (Mukhopadhyay et al., 2013). A strong leadership member would ensure that members follow the above recommendations on teaching and training as the primary route to a developed economic opportunity of the community as a whole.

Glicken (2008), entails that advocacy theory can be initiated via offering of incentives as the primary strategy to implement the recommendations of working as a team. The approach of encouraging members to work together is likely to generate positive results because it brings members together. An example is where Apple Inc can opt to invest in a community through programs that teach, train, and encourage team work and offering of incentives. The move by Apple Inc would bring out positive results that would ultimately improve the living standards of individuals and families.
