After going through the plant and being shown exactly how the salt particles and other minerals are separated I realized that there are many steps to the solution/process. First water goes through the water intake then goes through the ultrafiltration process, this acts like a filter for all particles over 10-20 Nano meters in size examples of these Nano particles such as pollen, algae, bacteria, viruses, germs and organic molecules. Even after the ultrafiltration process there are still sodium and other minerals and particles that we cannot healthfully consume. This is where the second process takes place and this is Reverse Osmosis, when this procedure occurs a device called an Energry Recovery Device takes in both water and salt molecules and splits them apart making the water purified from all sodium and other oceanic particles, this exact procedure of splitting the molecules apart uses the most energy. Thirty licensed short-term insurance companies in the sector are chasing a paltry US$150 million in annual premiums. This represents an average gross income of US$5 million for each player. After reinsurance costs, this hardly leaves enough income for administration, claims dividends and receiving costs. Zimbabwe’s insurance industry currently comprises 76 players — 30 short-term insurers, five life assurers, eight short-term reinsurers, six funeral assurers, two life reinsurers and 25 insurance brokers. Only one out of 27 short-term insurers is publicly quoted and only five are credit-rated. Competition has increased among players, with most opting for sub-economic premiums to attract business, leading to poor underwriting, a development market experts say could see more insurance companies folding or merging with bigger companies who can underwrite meaningful business. ...Rough Draft #2 “The Day Goes Forever” “The Day Goes Forever” poem by Tom Clark talks about how the world is really busy doing its own thing and we are all “caged birds” because we are stuck in this century and we let technologies rule our lives. The title “The Day Goes Forever” in this poem gives me mixed feelings. When I first read it, I thought it was negative and the picture that came up in my mind was how the day is never ending and dragging forever. However, it also could have been positive, if you were having the best day of your life. This poem caught my eye because of the first sentence in the first verse, which is “were alone my shadow and me”. Automatically I thought about how we are trapped in this world. Some climatologists believe these increases in temperature can be explained by the warming and cooling trends in the 1900s, where temperature increased during 1920s-1940s and decreased during 1950s-1960s, however that trend theory does not explain the largest loses of snowpack are at the lowest elevations. Even if we are currently in a warming trend, temperatures are only predicted to increase further and faster, leaving us with the same issues. Questionnaires were most distributed to National Chengchi University students aged 18-25 through the Internet and social network, including Facebook and emails. Respondents (n=60) completed the survey with 38 respondents in single relationship and 22 in a relationship or married. The study uses the statistical techniques to measure similarity of physical appearance among couples and growing physical similarity in their facial appearance based on a scale 1-5. Statistical techniques including of arithmetic mean and standard deviation are also applied to examine eight possible factors that may affect human mate choice.
