If you select an organization with which you are currently associated, it is important to remember that the various analyses you make during the completion of your project must be based on facts that can be documented rather than your personal opinion as an employee. Each project component requires you to research a different aspect of HRM. In addition to gathering the requisite data from the organization of your choice, you are required to research and employ a minimum of four resources (per assignment) to support the content of each assignment. Examples of acceptable choices include informational interviews, scholarly journals, and white papers from professional organizations such as the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). As you progress through the project and address the different HR issues covered in the class, you continue to broaden your research and expand the number of your supporting sources. Career Development Plan Summary

...successful and generate the most benefit for the company, the human resources department (HR) has been tasked with creating a new career development plan. This plan is multi faceted and includes job analysis and selection, employee training, performance and career management and employee compensation. As sales and customer service are the customer’s first and continual contacts, HR has focused on this newly merged department to be both test subjects and provide feedback. Job Analysis, Job Description and Specification Combining two individual companies into one industry powerhouse has created the need to evaluate the jobs performed by employees of both companies and develop new job descriptions that will maximize success. This evaluation process is known as job analysis. Anthony, et al. (2002) and Dessler (2003), as quoted by Safdar, Waheed and Rafiq (2010) states “With increasing recognition of the HR-performance linkage, it has been suggested that organizations that actively pursue job analysis as a Human Resources Planning (HRP) strategy are likely to gain a competitive edge” (p. 18). By establishing core competencies and skills required, InterClean/EnviroTech will draw and retain the talent required to make the company successful. From these core competencies and skills developed through the job analysis (communicated in an earlier report) and communication with the current InterClean and EnviroTech management, four...
