Communication document | Layout/ Professionalism | Style/ Language | Content: Information included | Immediate impact/ memorable | In keeping with the image of the organisation | Website- Coca Cola | The Coca Cola website is professional in a very fun way. For example they have all the information included that the audience will need, such as information about the business, information about the products, competitions that they are running, promotions and offers etc. But all of this information is presented in a really fun way. For example on the website they have red bubbles all over the page and each of these bubbles has one of these bits of information on them. If you hover over these bubbles then they take you to linked ages which give you more information also presented in fun ways such as videos. | The language used in the coca cola is quite complex and would only be understood by teenagers and older. Although Coca Colas target audience is everyone from children to the elderly they have made the language hard for children to understand because children wouldn’t visit their website and would instead be relying on their parents to buy them the product. Therefore it will be the adults visiting the website to look at the products and offers and not the children. | There is a whole range of information on the coca cola website about the products, competitions, business itself etc. They have information about all of the different coca cola products. For example they talk about the prices about these products, prices of them, packaging of them etc. They also talk a lot about the business in general. For example they talk about the history and how it was founded etc. They also include information about all of the competitions the business is running and also all of the offers and promotions that they have on. | The Coca Cola website leaves an immediate impact and a memorable impact. This is because of how it looks and the way it is set out. For example the layout is very unique compared to other websites. The homepage is full of animated red bubbles which have videos in them that you can click on to watch and to take you to pages with more information on. This is really fun and is memorable because of its uniqueness. The brightness of the website leaves an immediate impact on the audience because it draws your eye to the website and makes you want to know more. The colours are red and white and these are bright colour which are fun and eye catching. | The website stays within the image of Coca Cola because of the look of it. For example they use the colours red and white. These colours are featured all over the website and so people automatically know that its coca cola as soon as they open the website. This means that the website is keeping within the image of coca cola. The website is also targeted at the target audience which is everyone from children to adults. They do this by making it fun and attractive for the younger audiences as well as informative for the older audiences. This means that the website is keeping within the image of coca cola. | Leaflet- Aldi special offers | The layout of the Aldi leaflet is simple and easy to understand. It is set out in a really simple way and so it is easy for the customers to flick through to the exact section that they want. It starts out with the DIY section that shows all of the various drills, tools, ladders etc. on sale. Then it goes on and shows all of the different pet products on sale such as dog beds, bird food, bird feeders etc. The next section is clothing items such as jackets, boots, hats etc. Then the next section is toys and it has all of the available toys on sale such as doll houses, scooters, board games etc. The final section of the leaflet is food. So they show the products on special offer such as sweets, cakes, sausages, fruit etc. When showing the products they have the name, the price, a picture of the product and a brief description of the product. The leaflet is set out in a professional way as it gets all of the information in but it is also fun and attractive to look at. | The language used in the leaflet is varied depending on what product they are talking about. For example for the DIY product section they use more complex language than in the children’s toys section where the language is simpler. The figures shown in the leaflet will attract the parents as they are more likely to be the ones actually purchasing the products and so they will want to know the prices. The style of the leaflet attracts an older and younger target audience as the language and prices would attract the older audience but the pictures and colours would attract the younger audience. | There is a lot of information included in the aldi leaflet. They include a variety of things such as pictures of the products that are on special offer, information about the product, the price of the product and the name of the product. They have this repeated for all of the different sections in the leaflet. For example under the pets section it says the name of the product the ‘Reflective Dog Accessories’. Then it shows a picture of the product. Then it has a description of the product which says ‘Ideal for walks on dark mornings and evenings. Choose from flashing collar, clip-on collar light or hi-vis coat with reflective strips’. Then finally it states the price of ‘£2.49’. | The aldi leaflet leaves an immediate impact and a memorable impact. This is because the logo is memorable as it is bright and has solid colours that catch people’s attention such as yellow, red, orange, blue etc. This means that people will pick up on what businesses leaflet it is straight away. The set out of the leaflet also makes it memorable as there are a lot of pictures and so it makes an immediate impact on the audience as they catch their eye. The prices are also very big and highlighted in red which show people that they are really low and would make an impact on the older audience as they would want to find out more. The big title at the top of the leaflet also makes an immediate impact on the audience as it says ‘Special buys- once they’re gone, they’re gone’. This would immediately catch the audience’s eye as they would want to quickly look what is available at low prices before they get sold out. | The leaflet stays within the image of Aldi because of the look of it. For example the aldi colours are used all over the leaflet and so people automatically recognise that the business is aldi because these colours are used everywhere else such as on their website, brochures etc. The leaflet is also targeted at parents and children just like the target audience of the business. They do this by using a variety of pictures and bright colours for the children and use the low prices and catchy title to attract the parents. This means that the leaflet is keeping within the image of aldi. | Menu- McDonalds | The layout of the McDonalds menu is simple and easy to understand. This means that a person of any age could easily pick up the menu and be able to understand what McDonalds serve and what the item is priced at. Although the McDonalds target audience is aimed at everyone from children to the elderly they still manage to keep it professional. They do this by having 2 separate menus. One menu is for the kids and it has the exact same layout but there are more pictures and bright colours. This makes it more appealing to the younger kids. The other menu is aimed at everyone from teenagers to the elderly and this menu is more descriptive. This menu also has less of the pictures and cartoon characters and explains more about the products and prices. However it is also fun and catches the audience’s eye because of the funky layout and the bright colours. | The language on the McDonalds menu depends on what menu you are reading. For example the language on the children’s menu is a lot more simple and easy to understand. This is because the children would not be able to understand big words and would be focusing more on the pictures and colours anyway. However on the adults menu it uses harder language and bigger words. This is because they will be focusing more on the actual information and what its saying then the pictures and overall look of the menu. | The information included on the McDonalds website is the names of the products, the price of the products, pictures of the products and information about what ingredients are included in the products. For example the menu shows a category such as chicken and then names a product that comes under this category such as the McChicken Sandwich. They then show the price which is £1.99 and a picture of what the product looks like. Then finally they show what ingredients the ingredients are in the McChicken Sandwich. For example the ingredients in this product are chicken breast fillet, seeded white bread, lettuce and mayo. They then repeat this for every product on the menu. | The McDonalds menu is memorable and leaves an immediate impact on the audience. This is because of the overall look at the menu. For example the colours immediately catch your eye and stay in your mind. The colours used are red and yellow and these are very bright and unique. Therefore they stay in your mind and leave a memorable impact. The pictures also cause an immediate impact because they look very appetising and when you are hungry they would look extra good. | The menu stays within the image of McDonalds because of the look of it. For example they use the colours red and yellow which are the colours in the McDonalds logo. They also appeal to the target audience. They do this by creating 2 separate menus. One is aimed at their younger audience and one is aimed at their older audience. | Advert- Coca cola christmas | The coca cola christmas advert is a fun and popular advert that is aimed at everyone from children to adults. It is repeated every year and still as popular because of the well-known christmas coca cola truck tour. The advert just shows the trucks driving around and people watching them and getting into the christmas spirit. They advertise coca cola in this advert as it is on the back of the trucks and so it is professional and does advertise the business to gain more sales. However it is also fun and makes the audience happy and get into the christmas spirit. | There isn’t much language used in the advert as it is mainly music. However there are a few basic words at the end which just talk about coca cola and how long it has been around for. This means that whatever the age of an individual they can enjoy the advert because it is all visual instead of wordy. However the few words at the end make sure that it is professional and does actually advertise the business. | The coca cola advert is very simple and doesn’t really include information on the various products they sell or the prices. This is because people already know this information and so they just want a entertaining advert that will remind people of coca cola and how it is available for all age groups at any time of the year especially Christmas time. The advert just includes a song ‘The holidays are coming’ and then just shows the coca cola christmas trucks driving around lighting up various cities. It also shows people watching the trucks and getting excited about christmas and also shows people drinking coca cola. This advert reminds people of coca cola and that it is widely available and can be drank especially at christmas with all the different foods families will be having. | The coca cola advert has a huge memorable and immediate impact on the audience. This is because of the coca cola trucks. They have become extremely popular and a lot of people pay money or try to win tickets to visit them on their tour around the world. This means that as soon as people see them on TV they are automatically drawn to watch the advert and it would also encourage them to buy tickets to see the tour. The advert has left a memorable impact as these adverts come on every year for coca cola yet no one gets bored of them and everyone remembers them. The advert creates an immediate impact as the music makes people stop and watch the TV because it’s a catchy christmas song and the lights all over the truck catch people’s attention as they are really pretty and bright. | The advert stays within the image of Coca Cola because of the colours used in the advert. For example the colours red and white are automatically associated with coca cola and these are used all over in the advert. For example the coca cola trucks are red and white with lights all over. This means that people automatically know that the advert is coca cola because of the colours. The advert also appeals to the target audience of coca cola which is everyone from children to adults. This is because everyone loves to get in the christmas spirit and celebrate christmas together. This means that the advert is keeping within the image of coca cola. |
