Assignment 6-2: CBT Activity 1. Identify your gremlin's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. As I’ve previously mentioned, my gremlin is predominantly made up of three factors: anxiety, FOMO, and dissociation. My gremlin emerged from the tapestry of my life experiences. It constantly states that I'm not handling things correctly and forewarns me of impending mishaps. This gremlin clings tightly, leaving me motionless on occasions, unwilling to release its grip. Releasing myself from its influence is a challenge. Surprisingly, it has become a familiar companion, a constant in my life. 2. What is the difference between a'smart' and a'smart'? The PowerPoint discusses this cognitive distortion as interpreting situations negatively without evidence to support such conclusions. Fortune telling is described as predicting negative outcomes without basis, and mind reading as presuming knowledge about what someone else is thinking without factual confirmation. I'm predicting this is why I struggle with anxiety and FOMO. I am constantly thinking about the possible negative outcomes that may arise as a definite outcome. 3. What is the difference between a'smart' and a'smart'? Identify your feelings and what needs are being met. As a child, I was rarely reminded and praised for the good things I did. Instead, I was constantly being put down and dragged for my mistakes. It seemed as if my mistakes defined me; thus, I became immensely anxious from a young age. I was afraid and overwhelmed with the thought of messing up and the consequences behind my actions. I started to become paralyzed and started to frequently experience dissociation. What I need is positive affirmations. My love language is word of affirmation (who would of thought). Thus, this is what helps make my needs

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy (PCT) have been shown to bring about positive changes in therapy. CBT and PCT, like all single-theory approaches, have limitations. Literature suggests that when the change-producing techniques of CBT and PCT are combined and applied, counseling is more effective (Josefowitz & Myran, 2005; Tursi & Cochran, 2006).
