Astro Nova is the name of our new planet. This new planet is located on the Perseus Arm of our galaxy. Today our world (Earth) is over populated, highly polluted, and is running out of natural resources to sustain our growing society. We discovered Astro Nova in hopes that one day mankind would be able to inhabit this planet to better our population. Today our dream has become a reality.
Astro Nova’s location is a bit farther from earth than expected. It is 7,500 Light Years away. Given that it is that far you may ask what the conditions are like. A normal day for Astro Nova is warm and sunny. Close to the days and seasons we have on earth. There is two land masses on this aquatic planet which only one can sustain life. The land mass that does not sustain life is a volcanic mass which we can use to foster many natural resources. Most of the natural resources we use today for building, producing money, oil etc. Will be able to be mined from this land. On the land ass that will be sustaining our society. There is farming which will take place by using mostly hydroponics. Hydroponics is the method of growing plants in water rather than using soil.
The only impact on the location of our planet due to social structures would be that not many people are willing to travel that far. Well if you are worried about the travel time don’t be because we are going to use Cryostasis for our travel. The political structure of our community is a Representative Council. The members of this council will be decided once we arrive to Astro Nova. The number of how many members will sit on this council is to be determined as well. These members will have the abilities of today’s president. The only difference is that it will only be those members and no State Representatives. It also means that when you vote for a council member your vote counts. Each and every vote counts individually.
Our economic structure is Free Market. Which means when you want to open a business you can. Free Market is an economic system which prices are based on competition among private businesses and are not controlled by the government. This can be good because everything is privately owned on not monopolized. The only downfall is that prices could get a little outrageous if there are too many businesses offering the same services. I guess it will all depend on those who choose to open a business and can set their own prices without government interference.
The impact on our energy use will be minimal due to the climate and natural surroundings. We are going to use wind turbines to collect energy mostly placed in rural areas where there is space. Also solar panels will be used to collect the majority of our energy from the sun. When the sun is not shining and the wind isn’t blowing we will also have water turbines in the ocean that generate energy from the current of the ocean. Finally we can use hydro thermal vents from the volcanic mass on our planet which allows us to convert the heat that is out off by these vents into energy we can use.
The Layout of our community is sectioned of mostly for keeping everything from getting to close to one another. At the center of our land mass is where all of the farming will take place. From there we have a section for Waste management, Energy production, water sanitation, and the residence part of our mass. This way everything that you would need will be in a specified location and there is no confusion.
The transportation that we will be using is cars and boats. The materials that are mined from the volcanic land mass are going to be used to manufacture these cars and boats. Once we get there the miners and oil workers will be taken to the volcanic mass by boat and returned to the landmass when there shift is over. Some of our automobiles will be produced to run of energy instead of gas to be Eco-friendly. There will not be a public transportation system.
In order to drink the water on our planet we must take the salt out of it. This processes is known as desalinization which can prove to be a healthier from of sanitation for water. Sewage is collected into septic tanks and used for fertilization on the farming side. The sewage will be separated by a built in filtration system that will filter out any of the trash that has been incorporated with the waste. Farming as stated before is located at the center of our land mass. We have decided to use mainly hydroponics which will allow us to conserve the soil for use in other ways. The one downfall to this is that we will need to filter this water as well so it does not harm our crops. There is another method that we are going to use which is going to use Platform Farms. They will use traditional soil. This will help keep the food off of the ground so there is more space to grow. One of the life systems that we will have are CO2 scrubbers which will take to CO2 out of the air so that is cleaner and less polluted.

...“A close examination of the endorsement relationship between Enron Corporation and the Houston Astros between 1999 and 2001 sheds light on an emerging and vital part of the entertainment contract in the twenty-first century the reverse-morals clause.” The reverse morals clause is define as a “reciprocal contractual warranty to a traditional morals clause intended to protest the reputation of talent from the negative, unethical, immoral, and criminal behavior of the endorsee company or purchaser of talent’s endorsement.” A clause gives talent the right to terminate an endorsement contract based on what the negative conduct is. An example is if Tiger Woods’ contract with Gillette were to have a reverse-morals clause then woods could sever his endorsement contract and potentially regain money for damages against Gillette if the company failed to hold what is defined in the contract. In 2000, Enron, a Houston-based energy company was named “America’s most innovative company” by fortune magazine. A year earlier Enron pursued a major league Baseball (MLB) franchise. Enron signed a thirty-year $100 million deal to name the Baseball field Enron field. Two year after Enron naming deal closed they filed for bankruptcy “the largest bankruptcy in American history”. The Astros paid a lot because of Enron’s bankruptcy. The team spent two months trying to get the name Enron erase from the stadium which cost 2.1 million to erase. A year after Enron filed for bankruptcy the Astor, announced that...

...that has been invested into "Hollywood" has definitely carved a permanent place in the books. So while having cartoons on that early Saturday morning that kids nowadays don't even get up to watch. It isn't necessarily a vital thing. Japan, a vastly smaller country with a different upbringing. They have never formed a movie industry that could compare anywhere near to American movies. Thailand, in recent years has become more prominent but otherwise, Eastern cultures just don't put out the volume nor quality that American films do. (I'm not saying Eastern movies aren't of good quality, I love tons of foreign films) However Japan did have something that was sparked by the creation of one of the most timeless characters in anime history. Astro Boy. In 1952, Osamu Tezuka created one of the most influential characters in animated history. As a young boy he was raised into a family that was rather well off. Luckily enough his family was well off enough that his mother would often bring him to the theater. (he watched Bambi, a lot) It was because of this, his interest and creativity grew and he would become known as "the God of Manga." ...of all time. He played for the Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, St. Louis Cardinals, and New York Yankees. He has the most home runs by a switch hitter in Major League Baseball History. A switch hitter is someone who can hit from the right and left side of the plate. Berkman was well known for being a class act and a stand up gut in the Houston community. He now coaches for a baseball team in Houston, which is a branch off of my Major Kinesiology. Kinesiology is a huge, broad field you can do so many things off of this major, such as, Coach, Therapists, and teacher. Lance Berkman started his career late and that’s because he played in the Major League for 13 seasons. Now, he is in my field of study and he coaches and teaches now. Berkman played baseball at Canyon High School, Berkman then attended Rice University, where he played college baseball for the Rice Owls. He was named the 1997 National College Player of the Year. The Houston Astros selected Berkman in the first round of the 1997 MLB Draft, and he debuted in MLB for the Astros in 1999. Berkman was one of the Astros' "Killer B's" in the mid-2000s, along with Jeff Bagwell, Carlos Beltran, Craig Biggio, and Derek Bell. The Astros traded Berkman to the Yankees at the 2010 trade deadline. He spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons with the Cardinals, and the 2013 season with the Rangers, then he decided to retire. He soon signed a one day contract with Houston to officially retire as an Astro. Berkman is a six-time MLB All-Star. He...

Cincinnati Reds Highest: $12,500,000 Lowest: $480,000 As Shown in the information above the highest paid player in the New York Yankees makes more than half than most of the highest paid players in the other teams. The second highest would be the highest paid player from the Miami Marlins, followed by the Texas Rangers and last the Cincinnati Reds. All of the lowest paid players consist of pitchers and they all have a yearly salary of $ 480,000. From the above scores we would think that the Yankees would be on the lead right now, however it surprised me to find out from the article that they are actually third in the division. The Yankees have a really good payroll and their highest paid player, like I mentioned before makes more than half of what other regular top players make. The Texas Rangers have a much lower payroll; however they are situated 10th in their division. The starter player for the Texas Rangers makes approximately 16,000,000 which are not bad however it is nothing compared to the New York Yankees. The Miami Marlins are last in the NL East division. Nevertheless their starter player is not bad off at all. Making more than the starter Texas Ranger player, the most paid player for the Miami Marlins makes $19,000,000. The Cincinnati Reds seem to have more of a...

History of Professional Baseball in Texas

...History of Professional Baseball in Texas   Baseball is an immensely popular American game, played between two teams of nine players each. The basic implements used in the game are a leather-covered ball, wooden bats for hitting the ball, and gloves for catching it. It is played at its highest level in the United States and two Canadian cities, where 26 teams make up the American and National Leagues (each with two divisions, East and West). Combined, these leagues are called major-league (professional) baseball. Most players who reach the major leagues have worked their way up through Little League, scholastic, college, and minor-league ball. In the early 1800s Americans began playing baseball on informal teams, using local rules. By the 1860s, the sport, unrivaled in popularity, was being described as America's “national pastime”. Alexander Joy Cartwright of New York invented the modern baseball field in 1845. Alexander Cartwright and the members of his New York Knickerbocker Base Ball Club devised the first rules and regulations for the modern game of baseball. Baseball was based on the English game of rounders. Blue Devil

...February 27, 2005 “The Blue Devil” I remember when I was a child my mother owned a very special family van. It was a blue Chevrolet Astro that took us everywhere we needed to be. Every morning, on the way to school, he would fly in the air as we went over the speed bumps in the road. I couldn’t wait until the next morning to do it all over again. I’d fallen in love with this van until he started to change on us. He started to surprise us in the most evil ways he could think of and as a result, we started to call him the blue devil. Every summer our family would drive to South Carolina for a vacation. The blue devil did fine on the way to our destination, but when we were leaving he gave us a very hard time. The air condition wouldn’t work and it was a very hot summer day. He knew that we needed the air conditioning but he wanted us to suffer in the hot sun. Everyone was burning up from the heat. My mother tried to turn the air condition back on, but he wouldn’t allow her to. We started to open the windows so we could get a breeze, but it would only row down half way. While we were still in route to our home the blue devil had another surprise for us. The right rear tire suddenly blew out and the blue devil started to swerve all over the road. We finally pulled onto the shoulder and stopped. We spent about an hour and a half in the hot sun while my stepfather changed the blue devil’s tire. I was scared to ride in the blue devil again after...

Louisiana Hot Sauce Research Paper

...The makers of Louisiana Hot Sauce Market it as one of the first Cajun food products to become commercially available. The sauce was first made and sold in 1928 by Bruce Foods, about five years after Baumer Foods (another Louisiana-based company) began producing Crystal Hot Sauce. Since then, Louisiana Hot Sauce has grown to become one of the iconic American hot sauces and is currently available in a large number of grocery stores. In order to get a better understanding of what has made this hot sauce popular for so long, let us take a look at what goes into it. The Ingredients in Louisiana Hot Sauce Aged Peppers Vinegar Salt The Pepper in Louisiana Hot Sauce According to the Wikipedia page for Louisiana Hot Sauce, the peppers used are long cayenne peppers. The About page on the sauce's website states that the peppers are combined with vinegar and salt and then fermented. The benefits of fermentation include a more complex flavor in addition to a reduction in the amount of vinegar needed to acidify the sauce. The Scoville rating of long cayenne peppers is in the 30,000 to 50,000 Scoville Heat Unit range, which means that it is 10 times hotter than a jalapeno. The Scoville rating of Louisiana Hot Sauce is 450, making it one of the milder hot sauces. Note that the 450 score is the same as that of another popular mild hot sauce: Frank's RedHot Cayenne Pepper Sauce. The reduction in heat is thought to be more the result of dilution with vinegar rather than the fermentation...

Tropical Delight Softdrinks

...Tropical Delight Softdrinks Problem Statement Tropical Delight Soft drinks is a small Canadian company that has a narrow line of drinks with only three flavours that was relatively unknown in the Canadian market but popular in markets of parts of Asia, South Asia and Tropical countries. Situation Analysis Strengths – The soft drinks were made with 30% real juice, which is more appealing to consumers who want natural flavours. The products were healthy and contain real fruit juices. Although the company had a small market share, their sales increased steadily over the years. Weaknesses – They had a narrow line of products with only three flavours, which were relatively unknown in Canada. Although sales increased steadily, they incurred some major costs in to import the fruit concentrates from foreign countries, costs for bottle and its label, labour and admin costs and also to distribute the drinks to local convenience stores and supermarket chains. Opportunities – They have an opportunity to expand its operations to greater cities in Canada that have a larger minority population to attract new consumers. They can also increase market share by expanding operations, thus increasing sales. They will have a competitive edge due to its distinctive name and packaging in the markets. Threats – The costs associated with expanding can limit access to him entering these new markets. They may have issues with competitors who produce more tropical flavours known in...

Discuss British/Colonial Operations Against New France During Queen Anne’s War. Elaborate on How Both Parties, Britain and Colonial, Viewed the Fate of Walker’s Expedition.

...Queen Ann's War, which lasted from 1702 to 1713, was the second of the four North American wars that were waged by the British and the French between 1689 and 1763. This was a direct result of the global maritime and colonial rivalry between Great Britain and France. In addition, it was also a result of the struggles between these two forces for control of the Europeans and North American continents. Queen Ann's War occurred because of unresolved issues that developed at the end of King William's War, from 168 to 1697. The main events that occurred during Queen Ann's War were the capture and the burning of Saint Augustine by English colonies in 1701. During this time, St. Augustine was under Spanish possession. A major French operation was the capture and the burning of Deerfield, Massachusetts and the massacre of many of residents of the town in 1704. 1 What followed these operations were unsuccessful expeditions in 1704 and 1707 by the troops from New England against Port Royal, Acadia and the conquest of Arcadia in 1710 by colonist that were supported by a squadron of British ships.2 One major operation that was a failure by the British was a joint venture by the British and the colonial joint military against Quebec and Montreal. When the war ended in 1713, it brought an end to the War of the Spanish Succession. Walker's Expedition to Quebec was also referred to as the Quebec Expedition. This was an attempt by the British to attack Quebec in 1711 during Queen Ann's...
