The focus of investors now centers upon whether financial reports truly reflect the value of enterprises. To increase the transparency of financial statements of domestic enterprises, to improve understanding by foreign investors, and to help bring the Taiwan stock market more in-line with international standards, the Financial Accounting Standards Committee of Taiwan promulgated the “Accounting for Impairment of Assets” in its Statement of Financial Accounting Standards No. 35 on July 1, 2004, which applies to the financial reports of companies with fiscal year ending on December 31, 2004. Companies can also elect to adopt this rule earlier than the required date. Because this is the first time “impairment of assets” accounting is adopted in Taiwan, many enterprises will experience a significant impact. It is also expected that share prices will reflect the “short-term pain for long-term benefits” view in the capital markets. Price of a Cup of Tea to Rise as Demand Soars

...Price of a cup of tea to rise as demand soars Student: Elie Gharib Student Number: 16443365 Lecturer: Dr. Neil Perry Economics 200425 Due Date: 25th October 2013. Drinking tea is much more than a habit but a cultural tradition that dates back for centuries. Second only to water, tea is the most consumed drink in the world. People enjoy a cup of tea especially in the winter season due to the many nutritional benefits it offers Tea is consumed by drying the plants’ leaves and boiling it in water. This is then drunk as black, green or white with milk. Demand for tea is increasing every year; in the last decade, global demand for tea has increased by 40% in comparison to coffee which has only increased by 7% (Aoyama & Akiyama, 2013). The global market for tea is very aggressive especially in countries where the demand is huge; the United Kingdom for instance is considered to be one of the biggest importers of tea as its population consumes around 165 million cups a day (UK Tea Council). This statistic for the UK population might change as prices of a cup of tea (at the retail level) is increasing due to many factors (Price of a cup of Tea to rise as demand soars, 2011). Supply and demand for a product play a major role in indicating the price; however, there are other determinants that also contribute towards the pricing of a product (Nellis & Parker, 2006). As a result the UK market will witness fluctuating...

...To: All Employees CC: Executive Management Team From: Jane Doe Date: July 1, 20XX Re: Our Target Goal Atha Corportaion is determined to double its sales. The goal is simple but the movement requires tactics, innovation and all man on board. It should be within our interest to retain our employees. This can only be done through training and development so that we sharpen the skills and talents of employees and retain the skills within our organization. Although employees are our greatest asset as they possess human intelligence, this can further be reinforced by adopting new leading edge technology and new investment (Ivey Business Journal, 2015). The executive management team has great expectations and believes this is an all-important venture. Of course, in order for us, the corporation to meet its goals, we need all departments to work interdependently because no one department can achieve the company’s goals on its own. Therefore, each department should seek ways and means to develop its employees and develop goals that are SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, and reasonable and time specific). As mentioned before, our greatest asset is our employees. Our goals can only be achieved through them. As a result, any negative atmosphere that hovers in any department pertaining to employee relations should be corrected immediately. If we improve the employee morale, we raise the standard of the corporation. We also motivate employees so that each team can...
