The passion that I am going to talking about is being an auto mechanic and all of the things that come along with being an auto mechanic. Being an auto mechanic is not a job for everyone, but I believe it is the right job for me. Being an auto mechanic requires many different things including having a wide range of tools, extensive knowledge about the automobiles and the to work on them everyday.
One of the most important purchases for a mechanic is his tools. One of the requirements for just about every auto mechanic job is that you bring your own tools. The reason for this is that while mechanics are trusted to work on vehicles, If a shop provided them tools to do work there would be no guarantee that the tools would be put back where in …show more content…
There are also lots of smaller and generic tool brands tool brands. The reason why you you would pay more for the name brand tools is that they are made out of quality materials and will last you a lifetime of constant use. Another reason why you would want to buy the name brand tools is that they can have a warranty to replace your tool if it breaks. According to the Craftsman warranty page their hand tools will be replaced or repaired if they are broken (Craftsman). Another reason why tools are an important purchase for mechanics is that they can be quite expensive. One of the most expensive tool brands there is is called Snap-On. A single ratchet on their online store costs just over $70 (Snap-On). While most people would say that it is absurd to pay $70 for a single tool, alot of people do. They but these very expensive tools because that they know that they are going to be made out of very high quality materials, they know that they are going to last longer than they ever will in a mechanic shop, and they they will have a warranty to replace any tool that so happens to break. Their website lists this tool kit for $6,999.99 (Teng Tools USA). The reason why that this tool kit interested me was the vast amount of different tools that are included inside. This kit includes all of the standard items such as your socket sets, ratchets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hex wrenches. It also includes a lot of other very important tools such like torque wrenches which are used to make sure that bolts are fastened to a specific requirement, a tap and die set which is used to retread bolt and nuts, and wire strippers which are used for electrical wiring inside the car. These tools are some of the essential tools that mechanics need on a day to day basis. The reason why a mechanic would spend this much money on tools is

English 200 Uhwo Gta V Analysis

...James Holt 3/10/15 English 200 Short Paper 4 GTA V: Parental Discretion Is Advised For millions of gamers across the world, few dates hold as much significance as September 17th, 2013. On that day, thousands of eager Grand Theft Auto fans lined up outside of Gamestops everywhere, anxious to get their hands on Rockstar Game's highly anticipated addition to the saga: Grand Theft Auto V. Those fans were not disappointed. It is definitely  hailed as one of the best games ever released for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and is probably responsible for more than one late analysis paper. This is due to its nearly flawless mechanics, gripping storylines, gorgeous graphics, and enormous open world. Until a couple months ago, I've never played any game in the Grand Theft Auto series compared to this one. This is mainly because Grand Theft Auto IV was released when I was eleven years old, and my parents thought that I was just a bit too young to be exposed to carjacking and outrageous hooker-killing. However, for the sake of research and comparison, remembering the gameplay of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which came out right before GTA IV, gave me a better understanding of what qualities may have been upgraded. Now, I don't know what GTA IV's mechanics and physics are like, because I’ve never played it before and only seen video clips of it,  but San Andreas's are very buggy and wooden-looking. Murdered gangsters flop around like rag dolls and the overall setting looks a bit...

Grand Theft Auto V

...17th, 2013. On that day, hordes of eager Grand Theft Auto fans lined up outside of Gamestops everywhere, anxious to get their hands on Rockstar Games's highly anticipated latest addition to the saga: Grand Theft Auto V. Those fans were not disappointed. It is widely hailed as one of the best games ever released for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, and is probably responsible for more than one late research paper. This is due to its nearly flawless mechanics, gripping storylines, gorgeous graphics, and enormous open world. Until a couple weeks ago, I'd never played any game in the Grand Theft Auto series. This is largely because Grand Theft Auto IV was released when I was thirteen years old, and my parents thought that was just a bit too young to be exposed to car-jackings and rampant hooker-killing. However, for the sake of research and comparison, two weeks ago I played my Steam copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which comes right before GTA IV. Now, I don't know what GTA IV's mechanics and physics are like, but San Andreas's are very buggy and wooden-looking. Murdered gangsters flop around like rag dolls and do that weird restless-leg-syndrome-type wiggling that really just shouldn't be continued postmortem. Your car or bike might spontaneously disappear, leaving you to either trudge to your destination on foot or drag some poor schmuck out of his own vehicle. These anomalies are exceedingly rare in Grand Theft Auto V. Dead people stay dead, and your car either stays where...

The sizes and packaging of Graves products and those of the competition are similar, yet there are distinct competitive differences that are not effectively promoted. Some differences include a unique, proprietary chemical cleaner that cleans "dry" (and does not clean "wet"), which helps to reduce mold. In addition, the Graves products reduce mold. Economics/ Competitive Strategies and Government Policies

...Started over one hundred years ago in Germany and France the automotive industry has become a major source of industrial and economic stability worldwide. In this report we will describe how the auto industry is affected by new companies entering the market, mergers, and globalization, on pricing and the sustainability of profits. We will explore mergers and merger activity within the industry as well as current and expected government policies and regulations in place to address issues related to externalities. We will also take a look at the effects of global competition on the decisions made by management with regards to change in labor demand, supply, relations, unions, and rules and regulations in the auto industry. Considering the aforementioned topic on the auto industry’s competitive strategies and Government policies you will say that this report aims to explain how these two areas have impacted the auto industry and will affect it going forward. Globalization Increasing globalization in the automotive industry is changing the way of traditional partnerships. Ten years ago, it was questionable to pursue business in markets such as India and China because political and business conditions were not conducive to direct foreign investment (Emerging Markets, Emerging Opportunities , 2012).As a result, many automotive companies such as General Motors, Toyota, Honda and Ford viewed strategic partnerships as a way to dip their toes into the water and expand into different...

I think I want to use a couple of quotes from this source in my paper such as; “For the first time in the history of collective action, the offline world has experienced a virtually organized and enacted union strike.” “"In what ways does technology use change many of the accepted standards for how a protest or collective action is organized?" However, it is hard to narrow the many aspects of technology use and virtual protest into only a few questions and refinement of the research questions is inevitable in the future.” Roleplaying is a reliable source because it is a bunch of Gamer’s coming together to talk about the differences between different types of games. Also, it has really good information for my paper. This site will help with my paper because it validates most of the information that I have found online. Two quote’s I would like to use would have to be “In a CRPG, most of the time, one has access to a save feature. Employee Training and Selection

...Training and Selecting Employees Jason Peters PSY 435 November 11, 2014 Robert Seneca Training and Selecting Employees Organizations have come to an understanding that their essential survival comes down to the dependency of a well-trained and a properly selected candidate for the positions they are seeking to fill. Organizations now understand that the training and retention of their employees are more cost effective then it would be to rehire multiple personnel for the same position over and over. Studies have been conducted, and techniques were developed from these studies to aid the organizations with their hiring and training practices. Although there is no positive proof that these tests and techniques are foolproof, they however provide a guideline for the organizations with the hiring and training of the right employee. Employee Selection and Training The success for an organization to thrive and succeed with its growth essentially begins with the selection and training of its employees. Employees who understand the task of the job and are proficient with its completion develop a positive work atmosphere. It is also essential that the employees receive the proper positive coaching to ensure that they are completing the tasks that are specified with that job while receiving feedback of their performance. For the selection and training of an employee, there are proper methods that can be used to choose and train an employee of the organization. The employee...

Conducting Research Police Officers

...Kyle Wright CJA/334 August 13, 2012 Nelly Clotter Conducting Research Police Officers The year was 1870; the idea of collecting crime statistics is discussed between the US Congress and local police executives throughout the year (Investigation, 2006). Their ideas, thoughts, and hurdles overcame them with doubts of funding suck a program. With the overwhelming issues of creating such a program the US Congress and police executives were forced to shut the program down until additional funds and counsel were found. In the early 1920s the ideas of an association gained momentum. “The International Association of Chiefs and Police (IACP) took lead, as it had in many police reforms in the early 20th century” (Investigation, 2006). During this time an advisory group was formed which was head by Director J. Edger Hoover and his technical group to form a criminal statistics program. It was the late 1920s when the gaining momentum of notorious villains like Al Capone, Lester Gillis – AKA “Baby Face” Nelson, Bonnie and Clyde, and John Dillinger that the congressional leaders create such a program to track criminal activities. Lteracy Narrative

...Andrew Yates Instructor – Anissa Demiter ENG 111 January 16, 2015 Literacy Narrative Throughout my childhood, the idea of having a college education was greatly stressed. As a result, it was my duty as the next generational child, to excel in my studies and achieve a life of prosperity and success. Learning became the basic foundation of my growth. Therefore, my youth was overtaken by many hours spent reading and writing what was known to be correct "Standard" English. I first found this to be a great shortcoming, but I knew that one day I wanted to have a great career. At this time I had no idea what I was going to become but trough reading and writing I had a few ideas. One idea was to be a truck driver or a pharmacist, but I later discovered I liked law enforcement much better. Through the many years of school I have found it very hard to get through my English classes. I found writing to be the hardest subject, but I always gave it my best. Reading I found much easier. I have always liked reading more it is easier than to write something. My mom always helped me through by encouraging to do so. She always told me “son if you just give it your best then you will make good grades”. Those words have stuck with the throughout my life. I strive to do my best in everything I do today. I give it my best. I think the reason I struggled with writing is because I’m more of a hands on person. I have been this way for as long as I can remember. I used to take...

Sexism in the Video Game Industry

...Linzy Waltke Professor Andrew Forrester Discernment and Discourse 1313 5 May 2014 Sexism Sells: The Male Dominated Video Game Industry Only 4% of video game titles released in the past 10 years feature a playable female character as the leading role, and there are even fewer female protagonists on the list of the top grossing video games (ESA). This trend of male dominated storylines is evident in other forms of media as well: movies and television shows tend to be centered around men, but video games show the least diversity in protagonists and often have regressive views on women and their position in society. Women make up 20% of console video game players and 46% of computer and mobile game players in this 20 billion dollar a year industry, meaning they are contributing a large amount of profits (ESA). Despite their significant purchasing power, they are not represented equally as characters in games, and continue to be used as a plot device or sexual being to attract the male target audience. Neither are they allowed to be a compelling character with a story arc and personal growth as we see with the male protagonist. Female characters, when included, tend to be one dimensional and only valued for typically how they fit into traditional gender roles by being submissive and innocent. This narrow portrayal of women comes from the fact that the developers of video games are predominantly men. Only 11% of game designers are women and only 3% of programmers, even though...

...Science Studies 2/2006 A Gendered Economy of Pleasure: Representations of Cars and Humans in Motoring Magazines Catharina Landström This paper analyses cultural signification in the co-production of gender and technology. Focusing on the popular genre of motoring magazines, it discerns a pattern organising men and women in opposite relations to cars. Men’s relationships with cars are premised on passion and pleasure while women are figured as rational and unable to attach emotionally to cars. This “gendered economy of pleasure” is traced in a close reading of motoring magazine representations of cars and humans. Further, a DVD representation of the Volvo YCC, a concept car developed by women for an imagined female user, is discussed in relation to this semiotic pattern. The paper is conceptual, texts are interpreted in order to bring forward aspects of meaning-making that are not immediately obvious. The objective is to critically illuminate one aspect of the cultural production of the car as a masculine technology. Keywords: cars, gender, pleasure This paper suggests a way in which to think about the cultural construction of the car as a masculine technology. Interpreting representations in motoring magazines, it traces a “gendered economy of pleasure” that organises the symbolical meanings of relationships between humans and cars. The objective is to contribute a critical perspective on cultural meaning-making to the feminist interrogation of the co-production of gender...
