Baldridge Core Principles

When it comes to personally evaluating one’s self, many find it to be a difficult task. Although it can come across as difficult, many times it is extremely necessary in order to improve throughout the workplace as well as a person’s personal life. Reflecting on how well one does things, it is important to understand that the quality of someone’s work and the amount of effort put into it is the most important aspect. The Baldridge Principles are an excellent way to measure the quality of standards, especially in school or in the workplace. The Baldridge Core Principles have areas that should most definitely be seen throughout the workplace in order to help that business improve the relationship not only between employees, but between partners and customers as well. The Baldridge Principles allow businesses to effectively self-assess themselves, which is a must if they are going to continue to improve the organizational practices, capabilities, and results of the overall business. Not only do they help with the assessment process, but they also allow better communication throughout the business, as well as a better understanding and management of company performance. Although there is a long list of core principles, the ones that I personally believe are the most important towards the business world include visionary leadership, organizational and personal learning, focusing on the future, societal responsibility, and valuing workforce members and partners. These seem like the most important qualities to me because they encourage respect and encouragement throughout the entire workplace as well as focus on new ways to keep improving the business. The one principle that is included in Baldridge Core Principles that I have a hard time with is Customer-driven Excellence. Customer-driven excellence is a description that many businesses
