Juz Gems

...JUZ JEMS -JUZ 7 Surah Mai’dah 83- Surah Al-Anam 110  We left off yesterday with Allah extensively discussing the other people of the scriptures particulary the Jews and the Chistians, and what they did to what they were revealed as well as their mistakes. As we move onto this juz, Allah is discuss how the Christians will be closer to us and nearer to us than the Jews and Allah explains how its because amongst them are certain priests and monks that aren’t arrogant. And because they are not arrogant, when they see the truth, they recognize it and believe in it. SubhanAllah look how Allah links arrogance with disbelief- how the reason why they are able to see the truth is because they are not arrogant. Arrogance is such a disease, believing the that you’re everything, “you”, “you” and more “you” is a disaster that Allah links to disbelief. The rest of this surah parimarily deals with laws for the Muslims. So previous people of scripture are discussed, now Allah focuses on us and gives us rules regarding oaths, Allah explains to us how intoxicants and gambling are works of shaitan which avert us the remembrance of Allah, Allah speaks more about what is lawful in terms of food, and hunting and game, and about testimonies. And what is really interesting how Allah several times repeats that “There is not upon those who believe and do righteousness [any] blame concerning what they have eaten [in the past] if they [now] fear Allah and believe and do righteous deeds, and then fear Allah...

Islam the Begining

...Islam the Beginning The religion of Islam began in 610 in the city of Mecca. A merchant son named Muhammad began to preach to his community. What began as a faith of a small community of believers in Arabia rapidly became one of the major world religions. There are many factors that contributed to the development and spread of Islam, most of which occurred during the lifetime of Prophet Mohammad. Some of the key elements as to why Islam was able to flourish include; the role of Prophet Muhammad, the Quran, and the Islamic military. Prophet Muhammad Islam can base its foundation and it’s beginning to one man Muhammad. Muhammad is the sole founder of Islam; he was born in a town known as Mecca in a Arabian city known as Saudi Arabia around 570 or 571 (pg. 180 Chambers). Muhammad father died before his birth and his mother when he was only six years old. Muhammad was raised by his uncle and worked as a camel driver in caravans. (pg 180 Chambers). Muhammad was an illiterate man who had no information on Jewish and Christian scriptures. Muhammad at age twenty-five married and had four daughters. Muhammad had two significant roles in Islam his preaching and Hijra. Around the time 610 Muhammad heard the voice of an angle Gabriel telling him to reflect the word of God. Muhammad began to preach publicly but was initially only able to get a small group of people to follow him in his beliefs. Most people feared him because of his paganism threated the center of Mecca...

Rise Of Islam Research Paper

...in the early 7th century. In less than two hundred years, Islam went from not existing to being the the political and religious organizing principle of one of the largest empires in the world. To understand the birth of Islam, one must first understand the environment that empowered its rise to become a global religion. Pre Islamic Arabia was divided amongst the Eastern Roman, or Byzantine Empire (Housed in modern day Turkey), and the Persian or Sasanian empire. Both were extremely powerful empires with strong military and political strength, each defending their own religious views; the Byzantine protecting the Orthodox Christianity, and the Sasanians protecting the Zoroastrian orthodoxy. These two empires were in a seemingly endless battle for hundreds of years due to aberrations of their innate tribal ethos. It is important to note that at this time, there was a strong sense of tribalism, and...

...NATURE OF PROPHETHOOD IN ISLAM It is a gift from the Almighty to His special people upon whom he confirms prophethood.,thus it cannot be acquired by a person on his own. However, through His wisdom He grants to whosoever stands prepared for it and is capable of carrying it.As he blessed prophethood on Hz Muhammad when he was searching for the truth in the cave of Hira. The Quran mentions ,He does not send down His angels with inspiration of His command to such of His servants as He pleases. We all agree that they are incapable of making mistakes and they conveyed Allah’s message as it was revealed on them.Like all men,Prophets are truly fallible, their distinction lies in that Allah does not leave them in their error,He corrects them as He taught the words of Forgiveness to Hz Adam when he neared the forbidden tree . TABUK EXPEDITION This expedition took place against the Romans in 9Ah.The. Conditions at Madina at that time were not at all favourable for the Muslims. It was the time for the harvesting of the crops and the ripening of dates, Madina was facing a severe famine ,the weather was very hot and the Journey was too long. The Holy Prophet declared Jehad compulsory for all. The Arabs were apprehensive after their defeat at Mautah. The hypocrites created fear of the enemy and the weather and stayed back.A few companions of the Prophet such as Kaaba bin Malik and Murara bin Rabi stayed back not because of disobedience but due to procrastination. ...was not the case. Muhammad’s message was spread specifically by his uncle Hamza, whom was a tough and brave warrior. The rebellious actions carried out would lead to the fighting and murdering of innocent people because of their refusal to agree with the corrupt political and military rulers who conquered Mecca. The general message of the film is to show us as an audience how tough it was during the times of the prophet Muhammed and how brave the rebellious clans were by having faith in something they could not actually vision. For example, the film starts in Mecca where Muslims are being grizzly murdered for their beliefs of the True God. The film contains numerous of historical events that were quite horrific including the Battle of Badr and the Battle of Uhud. The film is generally is told from the rebellious point of view of this specific historic event. For example, the film is told from Hamza’s (Muhammad’s uncle) point of view. The film also is depicted in both Abu Sufryan’s and his wife’s point of view whom both later gave in to the...

...AI-Waleed. For, it was Khalid ibn AI-Waleed who managed to cause the defeat of the Muslim army atUhud,??before his conversion t o Islam. After his acceptance of the Faith , Khalid ibn AI-Waleed was the champion of many a decisive battle in favour of Islam, such as the battle against Musaylimah the Imposter and the battle of Yarmauk against the Roman Empire’s army in Syria. In fact , the reader of history will find that Khalid ibn Al-Waleed was a military strategist and commander with very few equals in human history, a man who turned many a defeat or near defeat into glorious victories, as well shall see in the few examples we will be quoting. The first military encounter in which our hero showed his genius was the Battle of Uhud, which he (while a polytheist) caused to be the worst for Muslims in the early days of Islam. This battle was initiated by the Makkan polytheists in revenge for their defeat at the Battle of Badr, where more than thousand of them were defeated by only a little over three hundred Muslims fighters. In the Battle of Uhad, Prophet Muhammad  placed a group of archers on a nearby hill to give protection to the back of the Muslim army with specific instructions not to leave their posts under any circumstances. However, when the battle proved initially to be in favour of the Muslim army, the archers forgot the orders of their commander and left their positions. At this juncture, the military genius of Khalid ibn AI-Waleed led him to take a band of fighters with...

...Lessons in Leadership from the Life of the Prophet Muhammad: Arabic Knowledge@Wharton ( http://knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu/arabic/article.cfm?articleid=2540) Lessons in Leadership from the Life of the Prophet Muhammad Published October 05, 2010 in Arabic Knowledge@Wharton The Leadership of Muhammad is a new book by British management scholar John Adair that mines the life of the Prophet Muhammad to highlight his extraordinary qualities as a leader. According to Adair, success is a function of leadership, and his short work provides anyone interested in learning how to lead and motivate with a wealth of insight, according to this review by Muqtedar Khan, an associate professor of political science and international relations at the University of Delaware. Over the years, Muslim and non-Muslim historians have written many books about Prophet Muhammad as a leader, highlighting the divinely guided qualities of his personality as the final messenger of God, according to Islamic beliefs. But in the past century or so, a modernist, rationalist school of Islamic thought has emerged, which focuses on examining Prophet Muhammad as a charismatic leader as well as being the messenger of God. Developed by thinkers like Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and Shibli Nomani in India and Sheikh Muhammad Abduh and Rashid Rida in the Arab world, this school seeks to minimize the miraculous nature of the Prophet's biography to explore the rationalist and humanist dimensions of his personality. Their interpretations...

Jesus

...Jesus and Muhammad Anthony Ebron 3/1/2009 Trace the lives of Jesus and Muhammad historically. Compare what impact the death of each person had on his respective religion. Describe the ways each individual was/is worshipped. Explain how their messages are being carried out in the world today. Jesus and Muhammad Paper Life of Jesus: There is very little historical proof of the life of Jesus outside of the Bible. What Christians believe about Jesus’ life and teachings is based largely on biblical texts, particularly the first four books of the New Testament, which are called the gospels. These books seem to have been written around forty to sixty years after Jesus’ death. They are based on the oral transmission of the stories and discourses, which may have been influenced by the growing split between Christians and Jews. The gospels were first written down in Greek and perhaps Aramaic, the everyday language that Jesus spoke, and then copied and translated in many different ways over the centuries. Jesus was probably born a few years before the first year of what is now called the Common Era. Traditionally, Christians have believed that Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Jesus’ mother was Mary, who was a virgin when she conceived him by Holy Spirit; her husband was Joseph, a carpenter from Bethlehem. No other stories are told about Jesus’ childhood in Nazareth until he was twelve years old. He accompanied his parents on their yearly trip to Jerusalem for Passover. Left behind...
