Usefulness of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs to Marketing In the most basic sense, Maslow's hierarchy identifies five primary areas of needs experienced by most humans. Beginning with physiological, or basic life survival, needs, the model progresses in subsequent steps through safety and security, love and belongingness, self-esteem and finally selfactualization. Maslow postulated that as man meets the needs at the first level, he moves toward the next, then the next and so on. More recent studies have added levels to the needs hierarchy and refined the categories, but marketing classes throughout the country continue to use Maslow's needs hierarchy as a reasonable focus for modern marketing efforts. Maslow posited that human behaviour and decision-making are motivated by one of the five need levels in his hierarchy. Applied to marketing theory, your ability to effectively appeal to one of these motivational drivers is a key determinant of your potential success. The same marketing campaign is unlikely to appeal to those on the first level, as they are driven by the most basic of human needs:...

BMW, the German carmaker, opened its factory in the southern state of Santa Catarina to begin producing its Series 3 sedan in an investment that is projected to cost R$600m ($240m) and generate 1,300 jobs. “Whether or not to export will depend on the economy and the speed with which we manage to nationalise production of our cars,” Arturo Piñeiro, president of the carmaker in Brazil, said at the opening ceremony. BMW is not the only company investing in an economy that is undergoing a deep shift in trade flows with the end of the commodity supercycle and the slowdown in China. Sexual Harassment- a Species of Sex Discrimination

...------------------------------------------------- SEXUAL HARASSMENT- A SPECIES OF SEX DISCRIMINATION ABSTRACT ”The best judge of whether or not a country is going to develop is how it treats its women. If it's educating its girls, if women have equal rights, that country is going to move forward. But if women are oppressed, abused and harassed, then they're going to fall behind” .........Barack Obama The global economy is becoming increasingly dependent upon the ability to effectively produce and use knowledge and that the competitiveness of a country depends on the knowledge acquisition capacity of its human resource i.e. both men and women. Human civilization is gradually progressing in transforming through all tensions, dissensions, and harmony.
