Review a Beautiful Mind Movie

...ADYSSA RISKA L. Z. 291 12 089 Business Economics – YP47A A Beautiful Mind – Movie Review A Beautiful Mind is a story based on the life of the famous mathematician John Forbes Nash. His contributions to mathematics are outstanding. When he was an undergraduate, he proved Brouwer's fixed point theorem. He then broke one of Riemann's most perplexing mathematical problems and became famous for the Nash Solution.  From then on, Nash provided breakthrough after breakthrough in mathematics. In 1958 John Forbes Nash was described as being 'the most promising young mathematician in the world'. John solved problems in mathematics that many mathematicians deemed not solvable. On the threshold of such a promising and outstanding career, he then went on to suffer through three decades of a devastating form of paranoid schizophrenia. He lost his teaching professions and his job. He refused all medical treatment and spent years in and out of delusional states. Remarkably, in 1994 John won the Nobel Prize in Economic Science for his work on Game Theory. Game Theory is an analytical tool to understand the phenomena behind the way decision-makers interact. Nash's work on Game Theory in the early stages has Nash comparing it to football, pigeon feeding habits and picking up women. It's the bar scene where Nash has his big 'Ah Ha' moment. While Nash and his friends all have their eyes on the same blonde woman, he surprises his colleagues with the question that if we all want the same woman...

A Beautiful Mind Mental Illness

...1. The title of the movie is A Beautiful Mind and the year of the movie is 2001. I viewed the movie multiple times in the past two years due to the fact that I enjoy the movie and watching the character Nash presents. I think I also chose this movie because paranoid schizophrenia is in my family, causing me to somewhat understand the movie better than others. I feel that having the sickness in my family has allowed me to look for the symptoms unlike other families. My uncle is diagnosed with this sickness, and it does affect people differently especially when comparing the actions of Nash and my uncle. The character in A Beautiful Mind, is diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. 2. Schizophrenia, being the mental illness in this movie, was specifically discussed in the movie because Nash was diagnosed with the disease. In the movie, we see...

Beautiful

...Beautiful By Siddiqah Cooper-Famakin I use to once sit and wonder what true beauty was; I would notice the outward neatness and great appearance of others and think that “this is what it is.” Not realizing that the same way they put on, they could also take off. It wasn’t until I began to grow and allow myself to be expanded that I realized true beauty must first begin within. I began to be able to experience true beauty by allowing love to come in; Love came in and saturated my heart and taught me to first love myself. After learning to love myself, I could then display love of immeasurable amounts towards God. When displaying love towards God, I love on His people. I began to love on the people of God by becoming sensitive to their needs; whether, Spiritual, financial, or physical. True beauty stepped in. I realized that it was not what was on the outside, but what was on the inside of MY heart. After God saw and noticed me operating in MY true beauty, He blessed me with a love that He knew would love me with the same kind of love that I put out. God blessed me with you, Olajireh Festus Famakin. I am truly grateful unto the Lord Jesus for you. You have come into my life and helped me to fully define true beauty. The beauty of you and me walking in the Garden of Eden with our Lord Jesus; I couldn’t ask for or imagine more. ...ABSTRACT My name is Kelechi Ogechi Ibekwe, and I am a Master’s degree candidate with Liberty University Theological Seminary in the Theological Studies disciple. This is in preparation towards equipping me for the end time commission by our Lord and Master Jesus Christ as He commanded in Mark 16:15 “Go ye into the world and preach the gospel”. I believe our number one aim of learning and preparing in His kingdom is to make more disciples to Him, even while encouraging one another in counseling. My steadfast goal in life is to know the Lord more, walk with Him, and then see Him face to face when He comes. For me, everything in life is a phase that someday will pass, but our desire in this life is to serve the Lord in all we do. Also in line with that, I am learning to encourage others with the utilization of the Solution Based Pastoral Counseling (SBBPC). With the inclusion of the Hawkins’ Pastoral Assessment Model, and defined teachings from Benner’s (2003) Strategic Pastoral Counseling & Kollar’s (2011) Solution – Focused Pastoral Counseling, it has been simply explained on the best approach to achieve this aim. This project emphasizes on an example linked with the SBBPC method with the general concentration being Brody, from Crossroads: A Story of Forgiveness (Harrison 2007). It all comes down to the way that Brody’s emotions are not put into consideration, especially by his father. Steps are gradually taken here on how to improve Brody’s state of mind with the aid of...

To have someone to love, and therefore someone to act bravely for, makes one capable of more than expected. Love leads to bravery and can get people through terrible times. In the movie Life is Beautiful, director Roberto Benigni shows the quality of bravery through the experiences of the main characters as they attempt to survive a concentration camp during World War II. At the camp, Guido convinces Giosue that everything is just a game, and he will earn points towards winning a tank. Unfortunately, when Guido goes looking for Dora, he is caught and shot to death by a Nazi soldier, but Giosue and Dora survive. Love is a powerful emotion which leads to acts of bravery, that people perform, even when they are scared. Generation Views

...Generation Views Around the world what sport do you think has become the most popular over the years? If you guessed racket ball then you’re probably wrong. It’s Called” The Beautiful Game “, and yes its soccer. They call it the beautiful game because of how one is able to manipulate the ball and make it do whatever they want it to. My dad taught me this meaning one day when we he was training me around the age of 8, and told me that if I kept working hard and stayed committed I would soon understand what he meant. From his generation to mine, soccer has increasingly become a much harder sport and because of that its popularity has increased heavily over the years. Why? Because the level of intensity soccer is played in today’s game, the merchandise big brands are producing, and the one and only World Cup. If you were to attend a professional soccer game without ever playing I’m sure it would change your perspective on the sport for certain. It’s not as easy as it looks on TV, believe me. Modern day soccer is so intense it’s almost insane. If you don’t know what I’m talking about go out and look for some team you could randomly join and play a whole game. Bet most of you wouldn’t last. It’s not just some sport you can just join in now to pass time. It’s either give it your all or go and play another sport because soccer is that serious now. Everyone at the high level is fast, strong, smart, and determined to take the ball from you. It’s nonstop running for...

...after she took a teaching position and continued to paint in Eskimo and Aleut villages in Alaska. It was in Alaska that she took a watercolor workshop from the internationally known artist, teacher, and author Zoltan Szabo. Virginia went on to earn a Master’s Degree and Ph.D. at the University of Arizona in Tucson. She has works in private, public and corporate collections worldwide. Virginia has also won juried awards in visual art and in video production. Virginia now resides in Port Isabel and many of her “local” pieces can be found at the Art Gallery in the lighthouse square. “Sunrise on the Beach” with out a doubt shows an outdoor setting with images in relation to a beautiful sunrise walk on the beach. The imagery used is from a personal perspective of an actual sunrise on the beautiful South Padre Island. A person, water, sand, a seagull, waves, clouds, and the vivid colors of the sunrise are all imagery that brings this painting to life and making the painting realistic. Being a surfer and enjoying sunrise surfing on South Padre Island, this painting brings a calming, peaceful, and happy feeling to me. I also think that the images are vague enough that just about anybody that has been to the beach can be taken back to their own memories of that time the experienced. These feelings lead me to believe that this seascape is an impressionistic...
