Open. Compassionate. Vocal. Cooperative. These are just a few of the many traits that leaders have. The truth is that there are a variety of leaders, about 8 to 12, depending on whose research you choose to buy into. The development of a leader does not happen overnight but instead is a process that comes with patience, experience, failures and eventual successes.

Personally, I have allows viewed myself as someone who leads by example but since working for the Vice President's Office for Student Life I have had to adjust my style of leadership. I have learned to become a vocal leader, someone who is willing to speak up and use my voice to put my team in the best situation to succeed. We’re all aware of the phrase that “actions speak louder
