If while doing walk throughs I walked into a class where it appeared the teacher was having difficulty managing the behaviors in the class I would make it a point to visit that teacher’s class at least two or three more times before I had a discussion with him or her. Every teacher has that one day when the student act out of the ordinary or that one class that is worse than the others, therefore I visit his or her class two or three more times and at different times. If after several walkthroughs, I see the same behaviors and don’t see behavior management strategies being implemented I would make it a point to have a discussion with the teacher. I would meet with the teacher in his or her room, teachers just like students can get very nervous when they must go to the principal’s office. I would begin the conversation by pointing out some positive things that were noticed during the walkthroughs. Then I would ask the teacher to tell me about her classes. Concept Analysis - Pediatric Procedural Pain

...Procedural Pain Management for the Early Childhood Patient: A Multidisciplinary Concept Analysis of Pain BLK, RN, BSN The University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing In partial fulfillment of the requirements of N5327 Analysis of Theories in Nursing Xxxx, xx October 8, 2013 Procedural Pain Management for the Early Childhood Patient Children presenting to the emergency department are often subjected to painful and anxiety-producing procedures, both for diagnostic purposes and for treatment of symptoms. Historically, pediatric patients have not been afforded the same level of care as adults with regard to the management of procedural pain. Pain in the young child age group (1-7 years) has often been under-treated, resulting in increased fear of the healthcare setting and postponement of necessary immunizations and procedures by the patients and parents. Close examination of the concept of pain – specifically, procedural pain in the young child age group in the emergency department (ED) setting, is necessary for understanding how nursing practice may be improved in order to produce a more positive patient experience. A thoughtful review of current literature will provide insight into the concept of pediatric pain, permitting a detailed analysis. This analysis will assist in the formulation of theoretical and operational definitions of the concept for use in further study. Review of Literature A review of literature was conducted to compare and contrast...

...an organization. This research paper discusses the level of responsibility that an individual manager has in the ethical culture of his or her organization. This is done with close attention to academic journals and research. The paper will derive its arguments from veteran theories like the Utilitarian and the Kantian theories. The paper will also relate its discussions with the case study about Enron a USA company that collapsed as a result of unethical behavior in the management.  Some of the components that will be highlighted in the paper include; the importance of an ethical culture in an organization, the dangers of lack of ethics in an organization and the strategies that can be used to promote ethics in an organization. Justification of the research. The study of the role of individual managers in the ethical culture of an organization is a justified venture. This is because of the increased calls for ethical behaviors in organizations. The expectations of the staff and the society at large on ethical behaviors have increased tremendously over the past decade (Kansas & Plain 2002). Organizations also have a constitutional responsibility to perform their businesses ethically. Failure to uphold ethics in organizations results in unfavorable consequences both from within the company and from the stake holders of the company (Donaldson, Thomas and & Preston 1995). As representatives of organizations and businesses, it will be...

Human Resourse Management

...TEGA INDUSTRIES LTD. Human Resource Management Performance Management – Appraisal System Parthapratim Chakraborty 11/1/2011 PART – 1 : Performance Appraisal System Introduction : Performance Appraisal is an objective system to judge the ability of an individual employee to perform his tasks. A good performance appraisal system should focus on the individual and his development, besides helping him to achieve the desired performance. This means that while the results are important the organization should also examine and prepare its human capital to achieve this result. This holds true even for new inductees. There is a strong linkage between induction, training and appraisal. In a large number of firms worldwide, a new recruit is expected to discuss his schedule of work in achieving his induction objective. This schedule of work becomes a part of his job for the next few months. Objectives of Appraisal Almost all organizations practice performance appraisal in one form or another to achieve certain objectives. These objectives may vary from organization to organization or even within the same organization from time to time. It has been found that there are two primary objectives behind the use of this methodology. One is to use it as an evaluation system and second, to use it as a feedback system. The aim of the evaluation system is to identify the performance gap. This means that it helps determine the gap between the actual performance of the employee and that...

Furture Leaders

...capabilities can be measured as factors in future leadership development. The importance of business leadership is well articulated with the observation, a good leader can make a success of a weak business plan, but a poor leader can ruin even the best plan. That’s why developing effective leadership using a consistent talent management program at all levels across the organization can return significant business value. To identify, attract, fill, and retain corporate leadership talent, companies need leadership development programs focused on hiring strategies, employee development, and career and succession planning. Successful organizations need both leaders and managers, but there are fundamental differences between a manager and a leader. While leaders influence, inspire, and drive people to a common goal, the role of a manager is to keep the day to day operations of an organization running smoothly. Employee development must reflect these differences and provide development of both sets of skills. Major talent management functions all play a part in a comprehensive leadership development program, and can be well supported by a unified talent management technology platform, specifically: Recruitment to source leadership talent Assessments to evaluate leadership capabilities both internally and externally Performance Management to monitor and make course corrections in developing leaders Succession planning to avoid leadership gaps in the future Career planning to...
