Benefits of Advertising in Different Mediums: A Study on the Return on Investment
Problem Statement There are many different forms of advertising. Television, printed ads, and social media are just a few. Most companies use some form of advertising to increase revenue. However, The Inter Trade Company has not taken advantage of any form of advertising. This, in turn, has caused a decrease in sales and business to become stagnant. Up to this point The Inter Trade Company has relied upon repeat business from current customers. How much business is The Inter Trade Company missing by not using some form of advertising? A coffee importer’s customers may only place 2-4 orders and how sustain any business for more than a year or two and for the business to continue it would need new customers . In a recent study conducted by the global research firm Market Probe International, the results showed that 72% of Twitter followers purchased from the small business that they followed on Twitter. Of those surveyed, 85% felt more connected to the small business that they followed, establishing their loyalty to the company and were more likely to recommend that company to others (Dyer, 2013). In a 2010 study conducted by the research firm Admob, 89% of the 3000 marketers surveyed agreed that social media marketing generated more business exposure. In the same survey, 75% of the respondents reported an increase in traffic for their business (Richardson, 2010 ).

Research objective This will be a correlational study and will use a quantitative research design to analyze the problem statement. The main focus of this study will be to determine if advertising will increase revenue for The Inter Trade Company.
