rowing up, my parents always told me that I wouldn’t know who I truly was or what I wanted until the age of 25. This assignment intrigued me because I thought maybe I would finally be able to compose an objective image of myself. I am currently 20 years old and planning to finish my MBA in 10 months. I still have almost no idea what I would like to pursue a career in. For this project, I solicited responses to create an image of my “best self.” I hope to learn from the responses and analyze what attributes are missing to create a great manager. The methods taken to solicit responses will be discussed followed by a full analysis of the responses leading to a view at my leadership strengths and recommendations for improvement.
Summary of Methods
To elicit …show more content…
In the responses, I was described as both a team player and a leader. This is really important to me because I do not want to be the kind of manager that doesn’t listen to their supervisees, but I would still like to be able to have a firm grip on the progress of the group. In my personality test, I scored a 1 out of 100 in two categories. These categories were creativity and sympathy. Because of this, I have to make an effort to come across as empathetic and compassionate. From my results, I have learned that I do a good job faking it. Mrs. Diana Hinojosa only mentioned creativity, so I know I need to improve on that attribute. During times where I flourish, I lead with the purpose of forming a tightly knit group and I work best in situations that tend to be stressful or the result of a crisis with the objective of fixing a problem whether it is a crisis or working towards a goal.
Recommendations
I would like to work on my planning skills and commitment to work. Although I was described as determined, I would like to be seen as highly committed to my work. I would like to add value to a group by being able to provide a planned timeline of deadlines when work

Reflective Review

...20 Self-Reflection As they are intervening in complex human systems, capacity-development practitioners need to be flexible, adaptable and willing to learn from what they do. An important source of learning in real time is the processes and results of monitoring and evaluation (M&E). Bruce Britton explains M&E activities as they are commonly pursued and explores creative ways in which practitioners can use them for personal learning and selfreflection. He also provides suggestions on how this can be done under non-conducive organizational conditions. Monitoring and Evaluation for Personal Learning Bruce Britton By three methods we may learn wisdom: first, by reflection, which is noblest; second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest. (Confucius) Introduction Capacity development practitioners collaborate in efforts to improve the capabilities of complex human systems that operate and connect at different levels. First and foremost, capacity development is a process based on the assumption that better understanding and knowledge will bring about change. Also, the planning for capacity development interventions typically rely on variations of the Logical Framework Approach (LFA), which encourage careful thinking about expected outcomes and impacts. By its very nature LFA assumes that intended results of an initiative can be established in advance because the path that a capacity development process will take can be adequately...

...Report Assuring quality in education has been the goal of educators for centuries. According to UNICEF every child has a right to an Education. This is also supported by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) which says, “Every child has the right to an education which develops their personality, talents, and abilities to the fullest.” The Ministry of Education of Trinidad and Tobago along with UNESCO supports these objectives and worked together to develop programs that would address these issues. The Education Policy Paper (1993 – 2003) states, “Every child has an inherent right to an education that will enhance the development of maximum capability regardless of gender, ethnic, economic, social or religious background.” One project that has been agreed upon is Education for All. Education for All has as one of its goals ‘improving all aspects of the quality of education and ensuring excellence of all so that recognized and measurable learning outcomes are achieved by all, especially in literacy, numeracy and essential life skills.” This goal can only be achieved through the ‘delivery of a systemof quality education to students at all levels of the education system.’ In order to provide quality education to students it is important that all stakeholders play an active role in the education process. Therefore it is important that teachers continually upgrade and develop their skills to be able to identify and properly meet the needs of students. The ministry...

...Abstract To present a novice researcher's use of a reflective research diary in the quantitive measure of a mixed methods study and to recommend resulting changes to practice. Reflexivity is often regarded as a useful tool for ensuring the standard of qualitative research. Reflexivity provides transparent information about the positionality and personal values of the researcher that could affect data collection and analysis; this research process is deemed to be best practice. A reflective research diary also allows researchers to record observations about the research process. However, such diaries are rarely used in quantitative research and are even contraindicated. A reflective research diary maintained while conducting a retrospective audit of 150 hospice casenotes. A reflective research diary was written at the end of every research session to keep a detailed history of the research process and to critically reflect on the researcher's thoughts, feelings and observations on the day's work. This paper raises questions about whether reflexivity is appropriate in quantitative research, whether it has the capacity to add something of value or whether it endangers the robustness of the method. The authors consider the place of grounded theory's commitment to reflexivity in this mixed-methods study and discuss whether reflexivity offers any benefits to researcher development. Use of reflexivity had a positive impact on the progress of the quantitative measure...

Professional Journal in Nursing

...appropriate conclusions supported by the data. The concept of profesional journal as a means of developing reflective practice has become a popular topic in classrooms, professional journals, conferences, and continuing education programs (Boud & Walker, 1998). Many other names for profesional journal appear in nursing literature, including log, journaling, narrative pedagogy, dialogue journals, reflective practice, and reflective writing. Whatever people says, reflective profesional journal requires writing, a great deal of it. However, journals are an integral part of the teaching/learning in many nursing programs as well as in allied health programs and education in general. The purpose of this essay is to review the literature related to profesional journal and reflective practice and how it can be beneficial in the teaching/learning process. Reflective practice is a means of self-examination that involves looking back over what has happened in practice in an effort to improve performance or to encourage professional growth (Ruth-Sahd, 2003). Profesional journal is a method that is frequently used in nursing education as an active learning technique to enhance reflective practice. Why is reflective practice so important?
