Adversity People deal with adversity throughout their entire lives. The way each individual's deal and overcome obstacles are different. People overcome adversity by learning how to live with it, developing a way how to fix it, or learning to move on with their lives. To begin, people overcome adversity by learning how to live with it. In the movie “Soul Surfer” Bethany Hamilton’s arm was bitten off by a shark. But she has to do so many task, making her life harder. Bethany had to learn to live with only having one arm. Everyday task and things that Bethany loved, like surfing would now by difficult. But Bethany couldn’t change the fact she had lost an arm. So Bethany tried and eventually learned to live with only having one arm. In the story “A Young Tinkerer Builds a Windmill, Electrifying a Nation” William Kamkwamba build windmills for electricity. William solved his family's problem of having no electricity. William made the windmills out of old things. Like tree trunks and plastic pipes. William couldn’t afford a $80-a-year tuition to college, so William was self taught. Later on, he became well known, and some people paid for his college. This expanded his knowledge in the fields of windmills and electricity. To conclude, William developed a way to fix his adversity. Another, thing people overcome adversity is by learning to move on with their lives. In the story “The Grapes of Wrath” people had to sell their possessions for cheap. People in the story compared their things to junk and was sold for cheap. Even their horses. But they had to move on and get money. The people in the story had to let go of their possessions for the good. The narrator would give his things away for very cheap. Also, making themselves move on with their lives. Also, the things the buyers couldn’t carry… was burned. Concluding, that the narrator of the story had to move on with their life by selling
