A famous writer once quote that” we are the outcome of the occurrences in our life” and those words basically narrate my entire life. Growing up, I was raised to work hard and to always stay in school and that has become one of my greatest motivations in life. In August of 2002, I began to have a change in life; this was the year I developed a passion for medicine. The passion developed in high school after accidently being placed into the nursing program. Prior to the nursing program I had an interest in ultrasound. However, after listening to a couple of lectures by Mrs. Smith of Miami Jackson’s nursing program, medicine became my priority and I decided to pursue a career in it. After graduating high school, I began setting goals by selecting schools to attend. Attending a University did not seem to be the best decision at the time, so I decided to enroll in National School of Technology, now known as Everest Institute. I enrolled in NST in the fall of 2004. The program that was most interesting was pharmacy technician. After a year, I graduated from NST with a certification in pharmacy technician. My first job as a pharmacy technician was Walgreens. After working as a pharmacy technician for a couple of years, I felt unfulfilled, therefore, I decided to further my education and go back to school. What motivated me to go back school was to seek higher employment and support my family. I recently got married and we have a beautiful one and a half year old daughter. With the current state of the economy and high cost of living, being a pharmacy technician was not beneficial to my financial situation. Being married with a toddler I have come to realize that I needed a better income to help support my household. After careful consideration I decided to sign up for school. Now, I have my Associate’s degree and looking forward to my bachelor’s degree. So, I am now

...Harrison built his first longcase clock in 1713, at the age of 20. The mechanism was made entirely of wood, which was a natural choice of material for a joiner. Between 1725 and 1728, John and his brother James, also a skilled joiner, made at least three precision longcase clocks, again with the movements and longcase made of oak and lignum vitae. The grid-iron pendulum was developed during this period. These precision clocks are thought by some to have been the most accurate clocks in the world at the time.
