1. This project has been successful so far, first of all thanks to the great leadership of Hutcherson and his assembly of a very skilled team with professional individuals from very different but complementary backgrounds.
Planning and execution almost taking place at the same time; great communication was key to the success of this project. The use of different free IT systems enabled a good task management by letting the team know about the progress of the project and using immediately all new information provided by each branch of the team. All members of the team evolved together and based their tasks on the overall project advance.
The Binnj project also enjoyed from a good market analysis. Hutcherson recognized an unsatisfied need for a new app, using a disruptive technology from a strong brand company with an already proven strong platform; therefore, benefiting from the first-mover advantage. Plus, the target customers were clearly defined and were consequently studied and approached. Hutcherson then properly defined the goals that the project needed to reach in 100 days. Also, the team researched the competitors and assessed their power.
Moreover, the strong commitment to the agile development process as well as regular check-ups and adjustments according to the advance of the project allowed its success.
The effective delivery of the golden triangle (cost free; time 100 days; scope create an iPad based real-time electronic menu platform) was also a key element to the good development of the Binnj project.

2. A company will choose to use a more traditional development approach like the waterfall method when the company has more time to develop its product and is not pressured by the threat of the possible entrance of competitors in the marketplace. This method can be more efficient over the long run for certain software development processes
