lyricsWhen I was a young boy,
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band.

He said, "Son when you grow up, would you be the saviour of the broken, the beaten and the damned?"
He said "Will you defeat them, your demons, and all the non-believers, the plans that they have made?"
"Because one day I'll leave you,
A phantom to lead you in the summer,
To join The Black Parade."

When I was a young boy,
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band.
He said, "Son when you grow up, would you be the saviour of the broken, the beaten and the damned?"

Sometimes I get the feeling she's watching over me.
And other times I feel like I should go.
And through it all, the rise and fall, the bodies in the streets.
And when you're gone we want you all to know.

We'll carry on,
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And in my heart I can't contain it
The anthem won't explain it.

A world that sends you reeling from decimated dreams
Your misery and hate will kill us all.
So paint it black and take it back
Let's shout it loud and clear
Defiant to the end we hear the call

To carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're broken and defeated
Your weary widow marches

On and on we carry through the fears
Ooh oh ohhhh
Disappointed faces of your peers
Ooh oh ohhhh
Take a look at me cause I could not care at all

Do or die, you'll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Go and try, you'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part
I won't explain or say I'm sorry
I'm unashamed, I'm gonna show my scar
Give a cheer for all the broken
Listen here, because it's who we are
I'm just a man, I'm not a hero
Just a boy, who had to sing this song
I'm

Research Paper On Thanksgiving

...Thanksgiving is a public holiday when stores sell pumpkin pies. This is a feast were we honor the Native Americans who helped our ancestors .Usually in many houses the stove or the slow cooker is on to cook the food. The best part of this holiday is the eating part. This holiday is a great time for many foodies because of the different times of food. When we eat during Thanksgiving we do not just eat food like pizza and mac-N-cheese. We eat foods that our early founders ate. Some foods my family ears are corn bread, pumpkin pie, and soup. My favorite is the famous pumpkin pie. As you might notice all of these are made from vegetables. This holiday happens this year on November 26th. During the fall Squanto arranged a feast with the colonists....

Turkey Trot Argumentative Essay

...The annual Turkey Trot has been an event that Western New Yorker’s have been participating in since 1896. The Turkey Trot has become a tradition that the YMCA has created for people to donate to YMCA children's services and programs. These programs and services have helped many struggling families during the holidays and summers. Donated food items have made it possible for families to feed their children and even send them to school. Food items are sent to the Food Bank of Western New York, where thousands of meals are distributed to families in the local and somewhat more distant parts of the state. One thing I hadn't thought of when I signing up for the annual YMCA Turkey Trot was the amount of effort most in the race put into training. As many as 3,000 to 6,000 runners participate in the race every year, a record was set at the 100th anniversary of the race, held in 1995. The YMCA Turkey Trot set a record of 6,003 runners registered and nearly 91 percent of those registered runners finished the race. Now, that record has been shattered as the numbers have climbed to almost 14,000 participants. The 8 kilometer race expands throughout the heart of Buffalo using Delaware Avenue as its course. Although most people seemed to be amateur runners, including myself, many also seemed to be more or less, masters. One might say they were professional runners. I thought I would be able to keep up with most people. As the race began, I noticed the dedication the participants had. Family...

Christmas and Generosity

...To Give is to Love Close your eyes. Take in a long, deep breath and listen attentively. What do you smell? What do you hear? I smell the coldness of the Christmas air that hangs like a fragrant, saccharine flower. Coldness that seems to tickle my nerves and cause me to smile. I hear the soft singing of little children parading through the streets, giving out simple joys for onlookers and passers-by. I take a walk down the street and what captivatingly caught my eye is this. A little child, not older than three years old, was taking off her jacket to offer to her shivering mother. She herself was quivering but when her sickly mother started yet again another coughing fit, she couldn’t take it any longer and took off her all too small jacket and offered it, against her mother’s disapprovals. Both mother and child were beggars, living off on alms handed out to them. They lived on the street by the church corner and waited for some sort of miracle to happen. That simple gesture of warmth and caring was enough to set my heart to a shudder. This child indeed holds within her the true and real essence of generosity in such a cold and unkind time. The true essence of Christmas and giving is not found under the roof of a very wealthy family who shower their spoiled kids with toys and gadgets while they are away at work, it is found under a “nipa” roof of a complete family sitting in front of the table, sipping soup, looking into each others eyes, ready to offer their bowls...

Rise and Fall of Iggy Azalea

...Rise and Fall of Iggy Azalea In the summer of 2014, Iggy Azalea was at the top of the Billboard charts. By summer 2015, with a canceled tour and a whole lot of drama, the Australian-born rapper is struggling to stay relevant. What went wrong? Below, check out some key moments in Azalea's roller-coaster career. Azalea dominated the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart during the summer of 2014, thanks to two hit songs: "Fancy," off her debut CD, The New Classic; and Ariana Grande's "Problem," on which Azalea provided the rap verse. In May of that year, Azalea became the first artist since the Beatles to have their first two hits rank number one and two simultaneously when "Fancy" and "Problem" took the top two spots. Fancy would remain at number one for seven consecutive weeks, officially making it 2014's Song of the Summer. Azalea faced her first of many public woes in September 2014, when reports broke of a sex tape featuring the Australian-born rapper was being shopped around to numerous places, including the company that distributed Kim Kardashian's now-infamous video. The shopper turned out to be Azalea's ex-boyfriend, Hefe Wine, who also wanted the rights to music she had recorded before hitting it big. Thus began a long, drawn-out legal battle that did not reach a settlement until July 2015. According to multiple reports, Azalea agreed to pay Wine a miniscule sum of money, worth less than a Honda Accord. As "Fancy" ascended to the top of the charts, Iggy Azalea began to receive...

Black Friday, the Retail Holiday

...Black Friday, the Retail Holiday Black Friday is the biggest shopping day in the United States of America. Forget about Thanksgiving, Black Friday is the truly notable holiday for a lot of shoppers. In this essay, I am going to discuss about how Black Friday began and how it is changing, how business make business on that day, the pricing strategies and competition, and the implications for employees. It is hard to tell when the day after Thanksgiving became a retail behemoth, but it probably started on late 19th century. At that time, department stores such as Macy and Eaton sponsored the holiday parades. These parades gave stores an opportunity to begin advertising holiday sales. This turned into a result in a lot of people going shopping after the parades were over. It wasn’t called Black Friday until 1966. Originally in Philadelphia, on the shopping day after Thanksgiving, it was a massive traffic jams and over-crowded sidewalks as the downtown stores are mobbed from opening to closing. So, Philadelphia police and bus drivers call it "Black Friday". I think Black Friday makes good business sense to major retailers. It brings a good opportunity to retailers to sale their products. It is a good time for major retailers to make profits. But, on the other hand, I think Black Friday could hurt small or local business. It is hard for small or local retailers to compete with major retailers like Walmart or Target. Major retailers have a variety of things on sale on Black...

Thankssgiving

...throughout the years until it was declared an official holiday by Abraham Lincoln in 1863. (Staff) This holiday is generally celebrated by people who live in North America. These people generally span across a wide range of cultures, and the actual celebration may vary from family to family. A Thanksgiving Day celebration normally consists of a group of family or friends, or mix of both who gather together for a large dinner and companionship. One custom people follow is gathering together. Thanksgiving is a time to appreciate and spend time with your loved ones, whomever they may be. Another custom is the president’s annual turkey pardon, where he “pardons” one or two turkeys from becoming a Thanksgiving meal. The Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade is also a customary tradition. It runs in New York and is broadcasted live on National Television every year. One custom that is celebrated by about 90% of Americans is the cooking of a large Turkey as the main dish for the celebratory meal.(Staff) The cultural traditions for this Holiday have evolved over time and will most likely continue to evolve throughout the years so I do not believe that a change impacts the holiday or traditions negatively. The most important entrée served at the Thanksgiving meal is the turkey. The Turkey is the national bird of North America and became tradition when the Wampanoag’s gifted one to the Plymouth colonists during the first Thanksgiving. (Staff) To safely prepare a turkey, one must ensure that they...
