REFLECTION: INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY
Last week, what we did was a bit of refreshment such as sharing about what’s the new year’s resolution of each one of us for this year 2016, and the output was did great because as what I’ve noticed, each of us really has a goal for this year and that is of course to be one of those so-called interns. Afterwards, we talked and discussed about the contrast media being used in interventional radiology, its method of introduction to the specific vessel in our body, its classification, chemical properties, viscosity and its effect in body organs. We also discussed the effects and reactions of c.m to different body systems when introduced. We also discussed its preventive measurement for those high risk patients, the premedication, consent form, and if you’re authorized to undergo the procedure without opposition. On the second topic which is the patient management, it covers about how the health care provider behaves when introducing contrast media and how to properly manage your patient upon the procedure. Everything was great because we already had so much about the two topics we had last week. And because It’s already 2016, another year has come and another chapter to cherish and of course to strive harder for the subjects we failed on the previous year, but fortunately God is indeed merciful and great for I was lucky enough because I’m one of those who passed in our subject today which is interventional radiology. For those who failed in this subject, don’t lose hope, it’s not yet the end of the battle, and I know we can make it through, just believe in ourselves that we can make it, just make our best and God will do the

...Evolutionary Diversification of Caribbean Anolis Lizards. In: Adaptive Speciation, eds. Dieckmann U, Doebeli M, Metz JAJ & Tautz D, pp. 322–344. Cambridge University Press 2004. c International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis Please cite as: J.B. Losos and R.S. Thorpe. Introduction. Pp. 322-324 in Adaptive Speciation, reference above 16 Evolutionary Diversification of Caribbean Anolis Lizards 16.1 Introduction Jonathan B. Losos and Roger S. Thorpe The diversification of the lizard genus Anolis on Caribbean islands surely represents one of the best-studied cases of adaptive radiation in evolutionary biology. Over the course of the past four decades, researchers have studied almost every aspect of anole evolutionary ecology. These include systematics; community, physiological, and behavioral ecology; functional morphology; ethology; and demography. Studies have been conducted in the laboratory and in the field, and have included basic natural history, geographic and temporal comparisons of populations, and a wide variety of experimental approaches to the study of phenotypic plasticity, ethology, ecology, and evolution [recent reviews include Losos (1994) and Roughgarden (1995)]. The result is an unusually broad and detailed understanding of the factors that promote and sustain evolutionary diversification and species coexistence. Speciation and adaptation in anoles Two conclusions from the current body of work are obvious. First, the genus Anolis has experienced extensive speciation...

...Patriot’s pen Hi. Today I will talk about technological advances from the1700`s to now. We invented the light bulb. The light bulb was made to give off artificial light. But enough of that, let’s get to more interesting stuff. Video games. Almost everyone has them. We have x-boxes, psp’s, ps2’s, ps3’s, wii’s, and ds’s. There are so many games to play on these devices but I will only name a few. Halo, skylanders, grand theft auto, and spyro, and Mario. Next we will talk about TV. TV stands for television. It is a screen with little lights that blend together to form rapidly moving images called shows or movie. TV is popular and almost every one watches it. You can watch sports, cartoons, fantasy, action, adventure, and realistic shows and movies. Now on to radios. A radio is a speaker in which is spoken through from a mic from somewhere else. The voice goes through one end and comes out the other. You can listen to the news, music, updates, and talk shows. Radios are in everything. They are in cars, phones, clocks, and mp3 players. Now we will talk about robots. There are 2 kinds of robots, remote controlled and programed. Remote controlled robots are RC helicopters, RC trucks, RC dinosaurs, and RC inflatable fish. Programed robots are arms that put cars and water skis and planes together. Remote controlled robots are mostly toys and programed robots are mostly for construction. Some robots help you like body robots that you strap yourself into and it helps...

...Week 1 Exercise 1. The twisted pair is the main apparatus used to connect the customer to the central office, and vice versa. This is referred to as a “local loop”, and relies on one pair of copper cables, or ‘twisted pairs’ per household. The central office connects directly to the local exchange, but is not considered part of the local loop. The local exchange represents a specific company, which connects to the CO, which connects to the customer. To summarize, the interexchange carrier provides service to the local exchange, which then services the local loop. From there, the point where the interexchange carrier meets the local exchange carrier is termed the point-of-presence or POP. This connection allows for nationwide, long-distance service. At the base of all these connections is the simple fixed line service, or the ‘local loop’ described above, that connects each customer to every other customer on the network through the hierarchy of connections described here. The simplest way to think of the telephone networks is a network of interconnected networks, or a loop of loops. 2. Cellular technology is a relatively recent progression, but has seen many varied advancements since its inception. The first networks began with 1G technology, then 2G, 3G, 4G, and most recently 5G. Like other types of media, the format began with analog 1G. The creation of 2G added voice transmission over the network, switching from analog data flow to digital. 3G allowed for considerably...

...Organizing a business, needs a thorough investigation and research. A Feasibility study is the most efficient one for it examines and ponders all aspects of the business. Pizza, as we know it today is a bread crust covered with a tomato base and then flavored with other toppings. Most of us think of pizza as an Italian food and most of us are right. The word "pizza" means "pie" and is a derivative of the Roman term "picea". The Italians were also the first to use tomatoes on their pizzas. The real explosion in the popularity of pizza took place in the 1094’s; during WWI U.S. troops stationed in Italy had their first taste of pizza. When they arrive home they brought with them an appreciation for this great tasting food, and the growth of the U.S. pizza consumption began and today pizza is one of the most favorite food of many Filipinos, according to European nutrition research on the eating habits of people with cancer of the mouth, esophagus, throat or colon, showed those who ate pizza at least once a week had less chance of developing cancer. B. Name and Location of the Firm A business name is one of the most essential things to be prepared in starting a business. PIZZAPA came from the words, pizza and pasta which serve as the specialty of our business. Aside from that the reason why we choose that name “PIZZAPA” because it is originated from the word “Pizza pa” (pizza + isa pa = PIZAPA) so that customers would easily recognize what is our product. ...Reflection Although the concepts that we have learned in the class are not very new, reading about them and discussing them in great detail has made me more aware of them. I never realized how elaborate communication can be in topics such as nonverbal communication, listening, and relationships. Because I am a very shy and quiet person, I communicate a lot through these and now have learned the many different ways or meanings to communicate effectively. For nonverbal communication, I was never really aware of its effectiveness through communicating with people on a daily. After reading about different types of nonverbal communication and watching the video that analyzes all the different types, I think a lot more about how I am communicating with other people and how those people are communicating with me. I mainly focus on kinesics, proxemics and paralanguage because they are the most noticeable within a normal conversation with a friend. I also keep these types in mind while also watching movies and television shows now and how the characters are portrayed through haptics, artifacts, and physical appearance. It has become very addicting to pay attention to and it is also very interesting to see how different people act through nonverbal communication. For listening, I did not really see the difference between hearing and listening, but now see listening as an active process, and I am aware of the important aspects of listening as well as bad habits. I knew that listening...

...Geography Homework On Thursday 17 September 2009, shop owner and father-of-three Ravinder Singh (known as Ravi) was stabbed kidnapped and robbed of his shop takings before being left for dead in a quiet street in Hanwell, West London. Ravi’s terrifying ordeal started about 1025pm just after he locked up Dallas Liquor Mart on the Uxbridge Road, the family-owned off-licence. He walked around to the street to the back of the shop and was about to get into his white Mercedes Sprinter van when he was jumped by three black men in their mid-20s all wearing three-quarter length high-visibility jackets. . Ravinder & Ranjit Virdi They shoved him into the front seat of his van and drove a few hundred yards around the corner, stopping on Hatfield Road where they demanded money. It was only now that Ravinder realised he had been stabbed twice in the chest. He insisted they take him to a hospital but his pleas were ignored him and they took £900 of blood-stained money. One of the men then got out of the vehicle. Instead of letting Ravi go, they drove onto Grosvenor Road stopping at the junction with Uxbridge Road. Desperate to get help, Ravi saw two pedestrians crossing the road in front of him and sounded the horn, trying to get their attention. The men began hitting him and shoved him into the foot well. One of them held a knife up to his eye: “You do anything like that again and I’m going to cut your eye out,” he shouted, before holding the knife...

...of hard work, to find answers to only one gene. What was needed was a faster way to find answers, more transformations, to make the outcome better. If human SCA1 is injected into certain areas of the Drosophila fruit fly, for example, the eye, this would enable scientists to breed this particular Drosophila fly with a multitude of flies, whereby each carried some form of the gene, to see after mating, if any eyes were seemingly better, thus the mutation was reduced. TWO very important BLAHBLAH were found – chaperones, helper proteins, to help MAKE the SHAPE MORE FUNCTIONAL; used to suppress the mutation, as did an enzyme called AKT Now we can find more and more pathways Proof of principle to study modifiers of the disease (HHMI, 2003). Question 9: Using the Drosophila model of SCA1, what was the protein kinase they found to be implicated in SCA1 associated neurodegeneration and why is this knowledge useful with respect to treating the disease? Answer: AKT +/- Found an enzyme, AKT Kinase, BLAHBLAH Now can find kinase inhibitors, instead of looking at the gene, inhibitors come in the form of a pill MICE , taking pills, pre clinical trial (HHMI, 2003)....
