1. ¿Qué piensa usted que fueron las causas de las acciones de Chiquita in Colombia que finalmente la llevaron a su condena?
Las acciones que derivaron que las acciones de Chiquita en Colombia llevaron a su condena fue el de haber participado como organización empresarial el destinar recursos a las organizaciones consideradas como terroristas tanto a la FARC como al a AUC, esto marco la condena y pérdida de identidad que va contra los principios de toda organización el de estar ligados con organizaciones delictivas 2. ¿Cree usted que Chiquita o sus gerentes no tenían opción? ¿Sí o no y por qué?
Desde un punto objetivo puedo comunicar un caso muy particular el cual viviendo en el estado de Tamaulipas y el apogeo que existió de inseguridad en el año 2010 a la fecha se obtienen 2 puntos de vista encontrados los cuales:
1.- Si tuvieron opción al no buscar pagar protección a la AUC para salvaguardar sus operaciones y a su personal dado que en ningún momento estaban teniendo amenazas directamente como empresa dado que esto pone en tela de duda la responsabilidad social corporativa que debe de poseer cualquier empresa de no estar involucrado en este tipo de situaciones las cuales siempre saldrá dañada la reputación de la empresa el cual puede ser parte aguas para una caída inminente o desaparición total de la empresa
2.- Por otro lado el optar buscar protección dirigidas a los trabajadores y a sus operaciones dado que representaba una de las empresas más importantes en el ramo bananero ocasiono el no perder margen en su participación en el mercado y optó por conseguir ayuda pero no de la manera correcta la cual a ojos de las organizaciones gubernamentales e internacionales el tener este tipo de protección siempre será mal vista ocasionando degradación en la reputación de la empresa
Desde un punto de vista personal puedo opinar que es una decisión extremadamente difícil pero si alguno de nosotros supiera el vivir en un estado donde este tipo de organizaciones se encuentra presente no tiene más remedio que entrar en el famoso reglamento “pagar piso” o tomar la posición contraria de cerrar operaciones y trasladar el negocio a otra ciudad con un índice delictivo o conflicto en menor nivel 3. ¿A qué otras compañías o industrias cree usted que debería preocuparles la experiencia de Chiquita?
Principalmente las industrias que están sujetas a este tipo de situaciones de manera recurrente son las que se encuentran en zonas de conflicto y no hablemos de los países de medio oriente o donde exista guerrilla como en Sudamérica, vamos a centrarnos en el ámbito nacional en donde las zonas de conflicto se han centralizado en el norte del país el cual el primer problema que se tiene en el país es la guerra contra el narcotráfico en donde muchas de estos grupos extorsionan no solo a las micro, pequeñas o medianas empresas, ya están siendo afectadas las grandes empresas y trasnacionales las cuales no se hace extraño o fuera de contexto el caso presentado de Chiquita in Colombia.
En el mapa anexo se muestra cuáles son los grupos más importantes que dominan la república mexicana en donde se podrá ver con claridad que los países del norte son los más afectados por organizaciones de narcotráfico en donde tenemos en su mayoría empresas trasnacionales al norte del país

Así mismo se han reportado índices en donde 50% de las empresas instaladas en el norte del país han migrado o cerrado operaciones para buscar una mayor seguridad reubicándolas en el mejor de los casos en otros estados de la republica pero hasta incluso fuera del país
4. ¿Qué podría hacer ahora el CEO Fernando Aguirre para restaurar la reputación de Chiquita para asegurar competitividad en el futuro?
En un entorno de conflicto donde existen grupos paramilitares o siendo un caso extremo “narcotráfico” se considera que el CEO Fernando Aguirre o cualquier otra persona en el board tendría que desarrollar un plan sumamente estratégico donde en primera instancia contar con un sistema de seguridad altamente sofisticado para asegurar y salvaguardar las instalaciones así como generar pláticas de seguridad a su personal para poder reducir riesgos que pudiesen existir a los colaboradores.

Como segundo punto deberá de invertir esfuerzo titánico en poder volver a limpiar su nombre en donde deberá de tener como invitado por un buen rato y estar exento a auditorias contables para poder mostrar los balances generales y flujo de efectivo para mostrar una transparencia en sus transacciones tanto comerciales como los servicios que puede ejercer, esto con la finalidad de siempre ofrecer apertura a organismos auditables dada la historia que trae la empresa no está exenta de que este bajo la lupa atendiendo infinidad de auditorías.

Aunque la lectura no lo dice deberá de integrarse a todos los estándares de calidad para poder ofrecer al exterior que la empresa está tomando un nuevo rumbo siendo el correcto e integrarse como programas Empresa Socialmente Responsable, obtener la certificación CTPAT o NEC para el transporte logístico de sus materiales a Estados Unidos, así como obtener certificaciones ISO 9001 y las que apliquen para poder convencer a la gente de que la empresa está haciendo lo que está a su alcance para poder regresar al mercado competitivo con una nueva imagen.
