Betrayal is the most cruel and ruthless wind

The major theme of this movie- blow is not taking about neither selling marijuana nor cocaline. The whole story itself is a gust of wind and the main character, George is a piece of feather going back and forth dramatically base on his decision making and the cruel reality.
Not every parent teach their children what is love as their first lesson; not every parent love their children the most; not every parent protect their children as the most important mission. George’s mother, Ermine is a woman who is lack of motherhood. She is vanity and have a strong desire of revenge. She will leave her son and family because of a little bit embarrassed and because of that she informed the police force to arrest George when he was a fugitive and visited her for the last time. Luckily, George’s father, Fred is very open minded and optimistic. He loves George so much and let George have a very warm childhood even he was raising in a “single parent family”
The personalities of George and his father, Fred are similar but end up very differently. Both of them are very open-minded and optimistic. Even when Fred knew he was going to be broke, he told George that there is always a way to solve it. At the very beginning of the movie, Fred told George the meaning of money; however, George doesn’t really understand and it cause his rest of life as a tragedy. It is because George made a very big mistake in his future decision making which is moving to California and sell marijuana for living.
George was raising in a middle class family; however, he doesn’t want to be like his father as a hardworking construction worker and end up broke. Later on he decided to move to California with his best friend Tuna and spend his whole life to chase his “American Dream”. He met his first lover Barbara and she introduced Derek Foreal (the main dealer of

...ideas are bulletproof.” With these words, the film, “V for Vendetta” dramatically demonstrates the power of ideas to challenge and overcome the evil of oppression. In film critic Robert Ebert’s review of “V for Vendetta,” he notes the power of ideas, especially the belief that people should not be afraid of their governments, but rather that governments should be afraid of their people. Although Ebert questions the necessity of fear, and believes that governments and people should be able to happily co-exist, I think he trivializes the significance of the film’s message. Although it is an in-depth, well written look at the story, it is one-sided. He gives credit to a novel written by Allen Moore in 1983, on which the film is based, and compares “V for Vendetta” to other movies and stories. The main character, V, is described in detail, and Ebert explains his purpose in the story. The other characters, however, are not mentioned very much, leaving the reader a bit blank. I appreciate that he mentions the main idea of the film, and is generous with quotations. I do fin d his criticism a bit excessive, as he puts down the mask that V wears because the lips don’t move and his vision would be obstructed. Ebert seems biased on behalf of London’s architecture, as he expresses his disappointment over its destruction. He does admit to not reading the original work, so he cannot compare notes. In all, he gives the film a positive review, explaining its controversial nature: “To attempt...

Stealth

...Film Critique: STEALTH Cheri Adams ENG225 Instructor: Matthew Norsworthy May 15, 2011 Film Critique: Stealth Stealth was made in 2005 and is presented by Columbia Pictures, directed by Rob Cohen, Produced by Mike Medavoy. The Executive Producer was Arnold Messer. The movie starts out with wording and music, similar to Star Wars, giving the prologue of the movie. I feel that the Director’s vision is that he is trying to warn us about what the future is capable of happening, if we put “brains” in computers. In this thesis I will be telling you about the movie so you will be able to understand what is happening. I will also be telling you who is in the movie and what their roles are, the style and directing of the movie. I will also Critique the film regarding the flaws that was done, the editing to the style and the acting. The Original music was done by BT. Music plays throughout the movie; the colors are neutral at the beginning of the movie with certain key items showing full color, in one scene a United States flag is flying on a building. Dean Semler does the Cinematography’s work. His work includes Secretariat (2010) and Mad Max: Fury Road (pre-production) (2012). Stephen Rivhin did the film editing. His most recent work was Avatar (2009), Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (2007) and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006). Making a movie is a genuinely collaborative effort...

Into The Storm

...Into the Storm: Review By Tahlia Jones Into the Storm is a 2014 American film directed by Steven Quale and written by John Swetnam. Into the Storm follows the story of three groups as they are faced with the biggest super storm the world has ever seen. The film is shot in a ‘found footage’ style trying to immerse the audience in the action and terror of a super storm. Steven Quale’s climate fiction film offers many things for the audience except a substantial plotline. The script appears to be neglected in favour of the special effects and the characters had huge potential but fell flat. The first section of the film is spent meandering between the three disparate groups of characters. The first group of characters is Gary Morris (Richard Armitage) a single parent of two teenage sons, Donnie (Max Deacon) and Trey (Nathan Kress). Gary is the vice-principal of the school and enlists Donnie to film video interviews and footage for a...

Intership

...------------------------------------------------- Plot[ edit] Billy McMahon and Nick Campbell seek employment after being laid off from their positions as watch salesmen when their employer goes out of business. Billy then applies for an internship at Google for the two of them, and they are accepted due to their unorthodox interview answers, despite a lack of relevant experience. They are the only interns not of traditional collegiate age. They will spend the summer competing in teams against other interns, also known as "Nooglers", in a variety of tasks, and only the members of the winning team will be guaranteed jobs with Google. Billy and Nick are teamed with other interns seen as rejects: Stuart, who is usually engrossed in his smart phone; Yo-Yo, a Filipino-American who was homeschooled by a stereotypical overbearing Asian mother; and Neha, an Indian-American who is an enthusiast of nerd-related kink. The team is led by Lyle, who constantly tries to act hip in order to hide his insecurities. Another intern, Graham, bullies Billy and Nick's team. Mr. Chetty, the head of the internship program, also expresses his doubts about the older men's abilities. Stuart, Yo-Yo, and Neha see Billy and Nick as useless during a task focused on debugging and send them on a wild goose chase to find the fictional character, Professor X. But later, during a game of quidditch against Graham's team, Billy rallies his team to a comeback that unifies them as a team despite ultimately losing after...

Final Film Critique

...Week 5: Final Film Critique ENG 225: Introduction to Film Instructor Stephanie Miclot 03 Mar 2014 I have chosen the film Armageddon as the final film critique in this course. Armageddon was released to the America in 1998. The film was directed by Michael Bay, and written by J.J. Abrams and Jonathan Hensleigh. While there were a number of high-profile actors in this film, the undoubtedly biggest stars in this film were Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thorton, Ben Affleck, and Liv Tyler. (Imdb, 2008). Armageddon was a movie with a lot of potential, that was poorly written from the start and dismally executed on screen. While I am a fan of quite a few cast members, I was disappointed with this film as a whole. Albeit the storyline certainly lineal, the entire movie was fragmented with action sequences that left the audience wondering just exactly what was going on. “Take almost any 30 seconds at random, and you’d have a TV ad.” (Ebert, 2008, para.1). Armageddon seems to have been tossed together in haphazardly fashion by it’s writers, replacing real scientific facts with your typical inaccurate, and dramatized hollywood one-liners fired off by the actors in this film at every turn. An example of the diluted science in this film is in the plot of the story itself. An asteroid the size of the state of Texas is cutting through space on course for a head on collision with Earth, at which point, is certain to destroy our planet, and end life...

Fargo

...For my final paper I chose Fargo due to the fact that film noir was my favorite genre of films that I was introduced to in this class and it has amazing reviews, but I had never seen it. First off I love how the film opens "the following story is based on real events" disclaimer, it sets the viewer up to think they are about to see a powerful drama, then it catches them off-guard with a black sort of morbid comedy. Even from there, the opening shot shows the car driving down a dark empty road accompanied by some very appropriate music to makes us believe that it’s going to be a high action or suspenseful film, but the real colors of the movie quickly start to show through. This film changes an ordinary, Midwestern town upside down with a triple homicide and makes for a movie that can have the audience questioning their faith in humanity. I think that this film fits into the ordinary film noir genre, but turns it into a comedy/high drama, of Jerry’s despicable greed and his search of his idea of the “American Dream”. Slightly off subject, as far as “typical” noir films go I was surprised at the high saturation of light they used in this film even during very dark times/situations. I feel like this film removes the cliche of a typical police investigator. Marge is not the typical maverick cop we see in most investigative films, but a woman that is happily married to possibly the most painfully boring human being on earth, but a good husband, Norm. Marge’s...

Movie Critic Paper

...Movie Critic Devin L. Burks University of Phoenix February 23, 2015 LUCY For some months into 2015, this movie, Lucy has been hitting theater headlines across the world. It has consistently received diversified opinions from movie critics. From what I can see on the online reviews, it has received both positive and negative criticisms from all over the world. It leaves a lot of questions than answers as to why there is so much fuss around this particular film. Confused about what to believe in, I opted to watch the movie, albeit with an open mind. Lucy is a Sci-Fiction film, filled with some action and adventure. It is about a young girl, a student, who gets involved with a drug dealing boyfriend. Her boyfriend asks her to do a single drop inside a hotel while he waits outside. But the drug lord has other ideas, he kills the boyfriend and forces the girl to transit his drugs, hidden in her stomach. The drug bag busts open and she is exposed to the drug. The content of the drug sends her brain into unprecedented over-drive, manifesting the real powers of a human brain. She acquires enormous supernatural powers; she becomes a great warrior, able to understand everything around her, ranging from languages, medical conditions to mind reading. She is also able to travel through time, from the past to the present day. The movie is faced paced, quickly moving between time. The parallel transition between Lucy’s story...

Alexander Rodnyansky's Leviathan

...some of the most important social issues of contemporary Russia while never becoming an artist's sermon or a public statement; it is a story of love and tragedy experienced by ordinary people." This is just one of many extremely positive quotes about the Russian film, Leviathan, directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev and produced by Alexander Rodnyansky in 2014, and, as a forewarning, this may contain spoilers. Set in a small, northern town in Russia, the film takes in-depth look into the conspiracies of corrupted power in the lives of the powerless, focusing on a hard-working man, Koyla, and his family who desperately struggle to keep their land rights, hoping against all odds to win a losing battle. As the power-hungry mayor of the town threatens to illegally repossess his family’s farm and surrounding land, Kolya seeks the help of his old friend, Dmitri,...

Run Lola Run Analysis

...Films are a collaboration of art forms. The plot of the film is easy and engaging to follow. The characters are meant to be relatable as we aspirational. Finally the art forms that are incorporated are able to tie the entire film together. This what makes a film artistic. Unfortunately Tom Tykwer’s Run Lola Run does not make the cut as a successful film due to the fact that it leaves the audience in confusion the characters are underdeveloped, the film is trying too hard to use different art forms that ultimately become a jumbled mess, and the plot doesn’t really make sense if it is just watched from beginning to end. Characters are very important in film, they are what make the movie. Characters t are memorable and enjoyable loathsome and...

French New Wave

...An artistic movement whose influence on film has been as profound and enduring as that of surrealism or cubism on painting, the French New Wave (or Le Nouvelle Vague) made its first splashes as a movement shot through with youthful exuberance and a brisk reinvigoration of the filmmaking process. Most agree that the French New Wave was at its peak between 1958 and 1964, but it continued to ripple on afterwards, with many of the tendencies and styles introduced by the movement still in practice today… French New Wave The New Wave (French: La Nouvelle Vague) was a blanket term coined by critics for a group of French filmmakers of the late 1950s and 1960s, influenced by Italian Neorealism and classical Hollywood cinema. Although never a formally organized movement, the New Wave filmmakers were linked by their self-conscious rejection of classical cinematic form and their spirit of youthful iconoclasm. "New Wave" is an example of European art cinema. Many also engaged in their work with the social and political upheavals of the era, making their radical experiments with editing, visual style and narrative part of a general break with the conservative paradigm. Using portable equipment and requiring little or no set up time, the New Wave way of filmmaking presented a documentary type style. The films exhibited direct sounds on film stock that required less light. Filming techniques included fragmented, discontinuous editing, and long takes. The combination of objective realism...

Stereotypes In Clint Eastwood's Film, Grand Torino

...Personal Opinion The movie that was chosen to write a review on is Grand Torino, costarring and directed by the American iconic tough guy, Clint Eastwood. The reason the film has been selected to do the report on was, I had the movie at home. Clint Eastwood’s performance as the character Walt Kowalski demonstrated a prime example of the socioeconomic conditioned stereotype, produced as a result of the World War Two social conditioning. Unfortunately, throughout history, propaganda and war have gone hand and hand, like two entangled serpents. To have a war that is abstractly agreeable by its population, a government needs its people behind the war. Hate, many, times is manufactured against another race to justify going to war and killing the...

You’re a She-Devil!” I’m sure there many women how have seen She-Devil starring Rosanne Barr as Ruth Patchett, Ed Begley Jr. as Bob Pactchett and Meryl Streep as Mary Fisher said, “That couldn’t have been me.” The screenplay for the 1989 movie was written by Susan Seidelman, based on a novel by Fay Weldon. She-Devil tells the story of “a cunning and resourceful housewife vows revenge on her husband when he begins an affair with a wealthy romance novelist.” According to an unnamed source, to the movie received mixed reviews and was criticized the film for its tone. Both Barr and Streep were given positive feedback for their performances, however, Streep earned a Golden Globe Award nomination as Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy 1990. Even though some individuals may feel that the movie is one-side gender related. Recommending people to see this movie because this movie contains many positive/negative aspects of everyday life for both men and women. And this film can also help a couple that is having and want to fix things the "right" way. In She Devil, Ruth Patchett (Rosanna Barr) suspects her husband, Robert Patchett (Ed Begley Jr.) is having an affair after taking a very attractive novelist Mary Fisher (Meryl Streep) home from his accountant dinner...

The questions occur because of a scandal that hurts the reputation of the United States Navy. This courtroom thriller stars Tom Cruise, Kevin Bacon, Cuba Gooding Jr, Demi Moore, and Jack Nicholson. Each actor plays a significant part for their character. The characters in A Few Good Men face moral dilemmas. Lt Kaffe is played by Tom Cruise; he is a young lawyer who has to defend two Marines who are accused of murder. The two marines are Downey, and Dawson, and the victim Santiago. It is discovered that the two marines practice something called Code Red. This is known as unofficial disciplinary measure. It is thought that if a member of the team slacks on his or her responsibilities, the other members will suffer also. In turn, the squad will make that person pay. The officers, Downey and Dawson are accused of murder. A cloth is found stuffed down Santiagos mouth. In turn Santiago suffocated. The suspect’s argument was that this was a direct command given. They were to initiate code red against another Marine. This marine was not living up to the strict agenda of the Marine Corporation. It was discovered that the one who ordered the code...
