The element Boron was discovered by Joseph-Louis Gay-Lussac, Louis-Jaques Thénard, and Sir Humphry Davy in 1808. All of them separately isolated boron when boric acid was combined with potassium. The discovery took place in England and France.

Boron is a black solid. It is classified as a semi-mettalic. It feels rough and looks like big rocks you find outside. The crystal structure is called rhombohedral.

Many different hypotheses have been crafted over the centuries and have been topics of debate for thousands of years; however we still do not have a definitive answer.
