I will be writing my essay on returning to university as a mature age student after 15 years in the workforce and being a single mother of two children. After spending 15 years in the work force I had made good money, had an impressive social life therefore had planned for a financial stable future. Then came marriage, one child and with what seemed like an eternity but in fact was overnight I became a single mother of one child and about to have a second child. I lost my home and everything I worked for had literally disappeared, then to top it off my husband left the family unit. However, the biggest challenge was to work out at to do with my future to work around my children but also build a new career. The Microsystem would include my immediate family; my two children, my father, mother and stepfather. The children’s Kindergarden/Daycare also belong in this section as well. My parents have always been there for me and supported me in any way they could throughout my life. The strong support my parents have shown me and my children has continued and has strengthed with me heading back to university. Proud is a word my Dad has used often in my life but heading back to university the word has become more prevalent. My children’s kindy/daycare have also provided fantastic support, making sure my children are safe and happy. .
