Background
The following is a Questionnaire to be administered to farmers in regard to brucellosis disease. The objectives of the essay will include: investigation the degree of knowledge among farmers towards certain aspects that are related to the disease such as knowledge on vaccination, usage and storage; the second objective is to determine the level of awareness among the farmers and thirdly to investigate the degree at which farmers have embraced preventive measures towards preventing this disease.

Section one
How many animals have you ever seen that are suffering from the brucellosis disease? What are some of the common signs and symptoms that are related with brucellosis disease?
How many animals have you witnessed dying from this disease?
Do you think that there ways upon which farmers can use to prevent animals from getting this disease? (If yes, what ways do you think can prevent animals from suffering from this disease? if not, then why do you think that there are no ways of protecting animals from this disease?
Have you ever carried out ant vaccination process to your animals? (If yes, answer the following question)What safety measures did you take when carrying out the process of vaccination?
Did you involve a professional such as a vet officer? Did you use protective gear such as gloves and masks? Where did you store your vaccination medicine? (In open place, away from children, cool temperatures or anywhere)
After the vaccination process, where did you dispose some of the instruments that you used in the vaccination process? (Did you leave them unattended? Explain some of the ways that you disposed these waste materials from the vaccination process)

Does the disease affect animals only? (If no, have you ever heard of incidents where the disease has affected human beings?)
What are some of the conditions that make someone more vulnerable to this disease? How many non-farmers have you ever seen with this disease? Are there farmers who have this disease or professionals such as vet officers?
What makes human beings susceptible to this disease? Do you think that handling of raw meat is supposed to observe some level of cleanliness by the people in the slaughterhouse?
How many times have your animals not been subjected to tests by meat inspectors? Do you think that the role of meat inspectors is significant to the society?
Are there cases where your meat from one of your animals has been rejected by the meat inspectors? (If yes, what action did you take, did the meat inspectors dispose the meat? If no, how did you dispose the carcass? Do you think it is unfair for meat inspectors to deny farmers the chance to sell their products freely?
What type of cooked meat do you like? (Roasted, boiled or fried?)Why do you think it is important for people to properly prepare meat before taking it?
Are there cases whereby you have taken milk without proper boiling? Why do you think it is necessary to boil milk before consuming it?

Are there ways that one can prevent the spread of this disease? What are some of the measures that you have taken in ensuring that there is reduced chances of spreading this disease?
Have you ever eaten dead and uninspected meat? How many times have you sought for the services of a vet incase one of your animal dies?
Are you aware of any preventive medication that can safeguard someone from contacting this disease? (If yes, how many times have you ensured that your family is protected by this medication)
Are you aware of any medical attention that can help in healing this disease?
How many cases have you seen being cured by this medication?
What is the appropriate time for an infected person to seek medical attention?
Does this disease spread from one person to the other? (If yes, are there cases of isolating the infected person from the rest of the community?)
Are you aware of any government initiatives towards this disease among farmers and the society? (If yes, how is the government response towards this disease? Is it proactive or reactive approach towards the disease? How many times have you attended government seminars regarding this disease? Do you think the government is doing enough in fighting this disease? Do you think that it is important for the government to participate in eradicating this disease or funds should be channeled towards private farmers?
What are some of your concerns in regard to this disease as farmers? Do you see it as a threat to your profitability or a threat to your health? In case one of your animals dies from this disease do you carry out checkups on the other animals? In case your entire stock of animals suffers from this disease what measures will you take to ensure that it does not affect that of your neighbors? Do you think that disease can make you to change your economic activity as a livestock farmer?
