M1: Stakeholder Viewpoints and their Influence on Business Aims and Objectives
In this assignment I will be looking at the different stakeholder viewpoints and I will also be looking at their influence on businesses aims and objectives. So first of all I will state what stakeholder it is, then I will outline the viewpoint of the stakeholder and then I will look at the list of aims and objectives of a business and then I will evaluate which aims and objectives were created to serve this stakeholder.
Aims and Objectives: Tesco * Offering customers the best value for money and the most competitive prices. * Meeting the needs of customers by constantly seeking, and acting on, their opinions regarding innovation, product quality, choice, store facilities and service. * Providing shareholders with progressive returns on their investment improving profitability through investment in efficient stores and distribution depots, in productivity improvements and in new technology. * Developing the talents of its people through sound management and training practices, while rewarding them fairly with equal opportunities for all. * Working closely with suppliers to build long term business relationships based on strict quality and price criteria. * Participating in the formulation of national food industry policies on key issues such as health, nutrition, hygiene, safety and animal welfare. * Supporting the well-being of the community and the protection of the environment.

Customers – The viewpoint for this stakeholder would be they want Tesco to offer them the best value for money and the most competitive prices. Looking at the list of aims and objectives for Tesco the aims and objective created to serve their customers is, “Offering customers the best value for money and the most competitive price” and also “Meeting the needs of customers by constantly seeking, acting on, their opinions regarding innovation, product quality, choice, store facilities and service”. The viewpoint of this stakeholder has influenced Tesco very massively because they are the stakeholder that matter to Tesco very importantly, and Tesco will aim to please this stakeholders with whatever products or services they offer. So Tesco have to make sure they provide a very good high quality products or service, so that the customer keeps coming back to the business which will mean the business would be making more profit.
Owners / shareholders - The viewpoint of the owner will be to make sure that the business is bringing more money into the business every year and year. From the list of aims and objectives for Tesco, the one that applies most to this stakeholder is, “Providing shareholders with progressive returns on their investment improving profitability through investment in efficient stores and distribution depots, in productivity improvements and in new technology”. The viewpoint of this stakeholder has influence Tesco to try and become a bigger business as the year passes because this will mean there would be an increase in the money coming into the business, and this will keep the owners and the shareholders happy because Tesco is making money for them.
Employees – The viewpoint of this stakeholder is to get paid very well by the business and also to make sure that the business I treating them well by providing them with comfortable working hours and enjoyable working environment. The aims and objectives created to server this stakeholder is, “Developing the talents of its people through sound management and training practices, while rewarding them fairly with equal opportunities for all”. The viewpoint of this stakeholder has influenced Tesco to try make sure that they treat their employees right because if they avoid to treat their employees right then the employees won’t be able to bring in a good performance for them which will mean the business wouldn’t be able to run properly and the in turn the business might end up losing a lot of money.
Suppliers – The viewpoint of this stakeholder is to make sure they conduct good business with the organisation, so they have to make sure they have a good relationship and the business keeps reusing them for whatever they need. The aims and objectives that was created to serve this stake holder is, “Working closely with suppliers to build long term business relationships based on strict quality and price criteria”. This viewpoint has influence Tesco’s aims and objectives because they have to make sure they create a good relationship with their suppliers if they want to make sure they have something to sell to their customers and keep their customers.
Government – The viewpoint of this stakeholder is that they want to make sure the business does well and brings in money, so they pay a very high tax return to the government. Look at the list of aims and objectives of Tesco. The aims and objectives from the list created to serve the stakeholder is “Participating in the formulation of national food industry policies on key issues such as health, nutrition, hygiene, safety and animal welfare”. The viewpoint of this stakeholder has influenced the aims and objectives of Tesco, because they have to make sure they keep the Government happy if they want their business to run successfully so they have to make sure they play with the rules and be ethical.
Local communities – The viewpoint of this stakeholder is that they want to make sure the business provides jobs for the local community and also the business doesn’t have any bad effect around for the community, for example the business doesn’t create any traffic in the morning. From the list the best aims and objectives best served for this stakeholder is, “Supporting the well-being of the community and the protection of the environment”. The view point will influence the aims and objectives of Tesco because they have to make sure they keep the community happy by doing these things, so they have to keep the congestion to a minimum and they have to make sure they try and provide them with jobs.
Trade Unions – The viewpoint of this stakeholder is to make sure that their workers are being treated right by their business. From the list of aims and objectives the one that’s best served to this stakeholder is, “Developing the talents of its people through sound management and training practices, while rewarding them fairly with equal opportunities for all.” Although this aims and objective also applies to the employees, it applies to this stakeholder, because this influences Tesco’s aims and objectives to treat their employees rightly and not wrongly by making them work over hours and giving them terrible working conditions.

List all aims and objectives of this organisation: Havering Sixth Form College * To provide outstanding values based education through the consistent pursuit of our educational objectives. * To improve the college site by creating an excellent environment for education. * To effectively manage college finances in order to preserve the health of the college and prioritise investment in teaching & learning
Customers / Students – The viewpoint of this stakeholder is that they want to make sure they are provided with excellent learning and also with a good environment for education. The aims and objectives were created to serve this stakeholder is, “To provide outstanding values based education through the consistent pursuit of our educational objectives”. The viewpoint of this stakeholder influences the aims and objectives of HSFC because it then makes sure that the college has to make sure they provide the students with excellent education, or else the students will end up leaving which will then create a bad reputation for the college.
Employees / Teachers / Support staff –The viewpoint of this stakeholder is that they are provided with an excellent environment which is perfect for teaching. “To improve the college site by creating an excellent environment for education.” This viewpoint has influence the aims and objectives of HSFC because they have to make sure that they give their staff what they want, in terms of giving them an excellent environment or else HSFC won’t be able to get the best out of their employees/teachers.
Government/ Owners – The viewpoint of this stakeholder is that they want to make sure that the college is providing the students with good education. “To effectively manage college finances in order to preserve the health of the college and prioritise investment in teaching & learning”. This view point has influenced HSFC to be able to manage their finances and make sure they put the finances in making sure the students get a good education instead of wasting these finances on things that won’t be of benefit to either the student or the college.
Suppliers – The viewpoint of this stakeholder is that they want to make sure they maintain a good relationship with the college. “To improve the college site by creating an excellent environment for education”. The viewpoint of this stakeholder has influenced HSFC because they have to make sure they keep a good relationship with their suppliers or else, they fall out and they might have to find a new one which might be a long process and could result in HSFC not keeping the students happy if they don’t have any educational supplies for them.
Local community – The viewpoint of this stakeholder is that the college doesn’t allow their students to start misbehaving outside of the college which will affect them and also that the college is providing their students with good education. “To provide outstanding values based education through the consistent pursuit of our educational objectives.” “To improve the college site by creating an excellent environment for education.” The view point of this stakeholder has influenced HSFC because they have to keep the community happy, because some students might live in the community so they have to provide an excellent education but also an excellent environment inside and outside of the college.
Trade unions – The viewpoint of this stakeholder is to make sure that their workers are treated right, that they are being paid fairly and also that they are provided with an excellent environment. Look at the list of aims and objectives of Tesco. “To improve the college site by creating an excellent environment for education.” “To effectively manage college finances in order to preserve the health of the college and prioritise investment in teaching & learning” The viewpoint of this stakeholder has influenced HSFC because their teachers become their first priorities, so the college will be trying their best to keep their teachers happy, which will make the trade union happy because their members are being treated rightly.
Parents and guardians of students – The viewpoint of this stakeholder is to make sure that their kids are being provided with a good education. “To provide outstanding values based education through the consistent pursuit of our educational objectives.” The viewpoint of this stakeholder has influenced HSFC to make sure they provide their students with a good education or else the parents or guardians won’t be happy with the college and a lot of them will end up complaining or even taking their kids out of the college, which in turn will created a bad reputation for the college which is something the college wouldn’t want.

...Scenario 1: Task 1 (M1) The definition of classifying something as murder is stated in the (18th Century rule – Cokes Institutes) which states that “unlawful killing of a human being under the Queens peace with malice aforethought, express or implied. The actus reus of murder is the unlawful killing of a human being under the queen’s peace. Certain killings may be lawful such as those in lawful self-defence. As you can see from scenario 1 it shows us that unlawful killing of a human being was involved and this is shown in scenario 1 which shows us that the defendant pushed victim of the stairs and got seriously injured and because of this the victim unfortunately had a serious reaction from the drugs that she was supplied with and had died because of this and this shows us that the actus reus is satisfied. Furthermore the law of causation is that but for the defendants...

...Introduction Marketing- is the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising. A more simple definition is the right product, in the right place, at the right time, at the right price. It involves a business trying to understand its customers by identifying their needs and produce the products which satisfy those needs. The concept of marketing is that firms should analyse the needs of their customer and then make decisions to satisfy those needs, better than the competition. Nowadays most firms have adopted this marketing concept but it’s not always the case. The philosophy of this concept came around after World War II, when people had to be selective with the products they brought and only buy the ones that meet their needs and requirements but to businesses these would not always be obvious. Now companies have to always keep customers in mind when thinking of a product and the market is so competitive you will need to be the best product out there in that market to have the most chance of being brought. Three simple questions are often used when businesses decided to come up with a new product; what do customers want? Can we develop it while they still want it? How can we keep our customers satisfied? All being very good and valid questions to ask which will help to increase customer satisfaction as they are always in their minds. The two businesses I have chosen to use in order to compare and contrast their marketing...

Unit introduction It is important, when working in business, to ensure compliance with organisational procedures and legal requirements, as the consequences of non-compliance can have serious implications for employees and employers. It is important, therefore, for learners to appreciate that those working in business must understand the principal issues which affect the working environment, for all individuals and the organisations that employ them. This involves keeping up to date with information on the legal issues that affect safe working practices. Everyone at work plays an important part in ensuring health and safety and it is essential that key personnel are aware of their roles and responsibilities. Employers must take reasonable care to protect their employees, and others, from the risk of injury, disease or death, while employees must take care to protect themselves and others. Safe working conditions and the ‘welfare of employees’ can contribute to the success of an organisation. It is important that organisations take steps to prevent accidents...

Unit introduction Human resource management is a dynamic activity in any organisation as it takes place against a changing economic, technical, legal and social background. It is important for learners to appreciate that effective human resource management means getting the best out of the people who work for an organisation in order to ensure the organisation fulfils its purposes, whether it is a football club winning the premiership, or a hospital increasing the success rates for medical operations.
