Task D1 ‘Evaluate the use of techniques in marketing products in one organisation’
In this assignment I will be evaluating how well Thorpe Park have used different market techniques to market their new ‘The Swarm’ ride.
Brand building and influencing Buyer behaviour
One of the techniques used by Thorpe Park to market their product is known as influencing buyer behaviour. This is the factors that affect a person’s decision process when buying and using a product which are cultural, social, psychological and personal.
Evaluating the techniques
I will be analysing the way Thorpe Park use colours, sounds, duration, ability to market and message in their adverts to build their brand and influence buyer behaviour. I will be ranking each of these factors in order of how they were best used by Thorpe Park in their advert. The factor I ranked 1st was sound which I gave a rating of 9 out of 10. This is because I think Thorpe Park used sound well in this advert to capture their target audience. The music used was tension building rock music with screams overlaying which I think it gives a clear target audience for who the product is for such as 16-35 year old males who are thrill seekers this influences buyer behaviour. The one strength I would give about this factor is the way it was used to build tension within the advert by using tense music this engages the audience leaving them wanting to know what the advert is for. One weakness of the use of sound could be the taste of music, even though the music builds tension for the audience it may not be everyone’s type of music meaning this loses some of their target audience.
