EXHIBIT 1 Job Description Consumer Goods Salesperson The specific tasks involved in the consumer goods salesperson job are listed in order of relative importance to salesperson effectiveness. 1. Secure full distribution of our products. In a retail chain store, this would entail making certain that all our products authorized or available from their supplier or direct account are stocked. If there is a gap in the retail outlet of authorized items, the primary sales task would be to have the contact write an order guide for the item. 2. Maintain adequate in-store inventory. In the case of a chain outlet, the prices of all items are set at headquarters; therefore, your job is to see that all prices on the shelf and on the products are identical to the authorized ones. In an independent outlet, you should make certain the prices of our products carry the same percent markup as the competitive items. 4. Obtain best shelf position. An effort should be made to secure the best possible shelf positions for all our products. In chain stores, sections are frequently set up and authorized by a merchandising manager at headquarters, in which case it would be best to contact him regarding merchandising changes.
