Around 35 years ago, Chris Gardner became financially deprived, leading to the loss of his home; as he fought to survive with his two year old son on the streets, he encountered the opportunity of being an intern for a stock brokerage. A little more than 120 years ago Calvin Coolidge passed the Bar and began his career as a lawyer. Both of these men found success through hard work and dedication. But the force that kept their feet planted was faith. Mr. Coolidge held much thereof, whether it was in the truth, or in the progress that his failures bring; sustaining these values can prove very helpful even today, as we struggle with issues of our current period.
Calvin Coolidge was a firm believer in the adherence to the truth. For instance, while …show more content…
If we really know one truth the quality of our knowledge could not be surpassed by the infinite.” Coolidge emphasizes knowing and recognizing the truth, and the power which it holds. Knowing just one bit of true information can make a huge difference in a world of uncertainty; it is important to open yourself to the truth so that you can be introduced to the opportunities provided by your knowledge of it. Mr. Coolidge also explained his dedication to the truth through occupational honesty. As he was telling of the struggles of acceptance of newcomers among the Senate, he detailed his own experience. “He is always regarded as in the nature of a usurper. But I think I met less of this sentiment than is usual, for I was careful not to be obtrusive...But as it soon became apparent that I was wholly engaged in promoting the work of the Senate and the success of the administration, rather than my own interests, I was more cordially accepted.” Coolidge …show more content…
To date, while he expanded upon the due diligence needed to reach our goals, he declared that “Any reward that is worth having only comes to the industrious. The success which is made in any walk of life is measured almost exactly by the amount of hard work that is put into it.” The amount of effort you put into something is synonymous with the amount of thought thereof; in other words, the more you work-whether it be testing new methods to do something or laying the bricks to build your castle-each ounce is worth something. This is because in those you encounter thoughts through your experiences-failure or success-which indicate what went wrong or right, and allowing new ideas to be sparked in your mind. ...1. Ramada Demonstrates Its Personal Best In 1996 the latest D. K. Shifflet survey of customer satisfaction in the hospitality industry showed mid-tier hotels continuing their downward trend in perceived customer service, reflected by more and more respondents giving ratings on customer service in the 7 or lower range on Shifflet’s 10-point scale. While Ramada’s satisfaction rates held steady, “It was only a matter of time before we experienced the problem,” says Tim Pigsley, director of operations for Ramada Franchise Systems (RFS). Shifflet research highlighted three critical areas for study that could influence customer satisfaction: hiring (finding the best people to deliver Ramada’s brand of exceptional service), training (giving employees the tools to deliver exceptional service), and motivation (providing the impetus for Ramada employees to deliver exceptional service). Unlike some of its competitors, RFS is a totally franchised system. In such an environment, not only must headquarters contend with the variable human factor of all service operations, but additionally, RFS must contend with differing “exceptional service” standards among owners of the nearly 900 Ramada properties. “Due to the franchised system of property management, we needed for each management team and each employee to be committed to the change—to buy in to any new program—whatever shape it would take,” explains Pigsley. “We wanted to learn and borrow from the best so we started with Disney. ...UNIT 1- CAR BODY DETAILS Cars can come in a large variety of different body styles. Some are still in production, while others are of historical interest only. These styles are largely (though not completely) independent of a car's classification in terms of price, size and intended broad market; the same car model might be available in multiple body styles (or model ranges). For some of the following terms, especially relating to four-wheel drive / SUV models and minivan / MPV models, the distinction between body style and classification is particularly narrow. Please note that while each body style has a historical and technical definition, in common usage such definitions are often blurred. Over time, the common usage of each term evolves. For example, people often call 4-passenger sport coupés a "sports car", while purists will insist that a sports car by definition is limited to two-place vehicles. Body work In automotive engineering, the bodywork of an automobile is the structure which protects: ⦁ The occupants ⦁ Any other payload ⦁ The mechanical components. In vehicles with a separate frame or chassis, the term bodywork is normally applied to only the non-structural panels, including doors and other movable panels, but it may also be used more generally to include the structural components which support the mechanical components. Construction There are three main types of automotive bodywork: ⦁ The first automobiles were designs...
