Candidate Interview Debriefing Questionnaire

1. How long were you there?

2. Who did you speak with? (Name/Title)

3. What did you discuss?

4. What specific questions did he/she ask?

5. Were you able to answer all the questions?

6. What were your overall thoughts of hiring manager?

7. Could you work with the hiring manager?

8. What did you think of the position? The company?

9. How did the manager describe the job? Was anything different from how we described it?

10. How did they leave it with you? What are the next steps?

11. On a scale on 1-10 how would you rate your interest level in this opportunity? Why not a 10?

12. What other irons do you have in the fire? Is there anything coming up that would interfere with your acceptance of this job?

10. At $ __K/ or hourly rate if I were to call you back in 10 minutes are you ready to take this______opportunity? Can I accept this opportunity on your behalf?

If He /She IS HEDGING- TAKE AWAY CLOSE TO ASSESS REAL INTEREST- “ “Manager has seen you and another person that they like a lot, you are not the only one in the loop. You don’t sound very excited. Should I just take you out of the loop and have them offer it to the other candidate. “

OR
“I know they are actively interviewing for this position should I take you out of the loop so they can pursue another candidate?”

Here’s one key rule to always follow when negotiating the offer:

NEVER MAKE AN OFFER FORMAL UNTIL IT’S 100% ACCEPTED.

Test the offer instead.

...University Abstract The study was designed to examine the effect that hair length has on the acceptance of a homosexual male. The hypothesis stated that the homosexual male with the short hair would be more accepted than the homosexual male with long hair. Males were hypothesized to be more accepting of the homosexual with short hair; and females were hypothesized to be more accepting overall. Undergraduates (n=52, 35 females and 17 males) participated in this study by completing a questionnaire designed by the researcher to determine how likeable, respectable, and sociable the candidate was. Participants also completed the Homosexuality Attitude Scale. Data analysis from this study yielded significant results. Using a 2 X2 ANOVA, results concluded that women were more accepting overall in both conditions, when compared with males. Results also concluded that male participants were more accepting of the short hair male versus the homosexual male with long hair. A correlation between the likeable questionnaire and the Homosexual Attitude Scale was also conducted. Results yielded a negative correlation between assessments. Applications of the findings and future research suggestions are discussed. Keywords: Homosexuality, Hair length, Acceptance, Male Hair Length as an Acceptance Factor of a Homosexual male in College Students Sex and gender are terms that are often used interchangeably. Sex deals with the anatomical make up of an individual; and gender being the norms associated...

Ethical Problems, Experiments and Their Designs

...the three communication approaches. Question 9.4 What ethical problems do you see in conducting experiments with human subjects? The question of “what ethical problems do you see in conducting experiments with human subjects?” is truly a multi-layered opinionated question that forces a person to ask “what would be the most responsible way society could condone such acts and what could be the worst case scenario?” The first step in analyzing this question is to define ethics. Ethics is defined as “norms or standards of behavior that guide moral choices about our behavior and our relationships with others” (Cooper & Schindler, 2011, p. 32). The key issues of ethics in experimentation relate to benefits, deception, informed consent, debriefing participants, and the right to privacy (Cooper & Schindler, 2011). It is important that the researcher “discuss the study’s benefits” with the participants “being careful to neither overstate nor understate the benefits” (Cooper & Schindler, 2011, p. 33). We have already seen the worst possible ethical problems in conducting experiments on human subjects during World War II, when Nazi Germany conducted experiments on their Jewish and gay population in concentration camps. The Germans conducted experiments ranging...

Scientific Methods of Research

...03-Bloomberg-45467.qxd 12/26/2007 11:52 AM Page 65 CHAPTER 3 Presenting Methodology and Research Approach OVERVIEW Chapter 3 of the dissertation presents the research design and the specific procedures used in conducting your study. A research design includes various interrelated elements that reflect its sequential nature. This chapter is intended to show the reader that you have an understanding of the methodological implications of the choices you made and, in particular, that you have thought carefully about the links between your study’s purpose and research questions and the research approach and research methods that you have selected. Note that in the proposal’s chapter 3, you project what you will do based on what you know about the particular methods used in qualitative research, in general, and in your tradition or genre, in particular; hence, it is written in future tense. In the dissertation’s chapter 3, you report on what you have already done. You write after the fact; hence, you write in past tense. As such, many of the sections of chapter 3 can be written only after you have actually conducted your study (i.e., collected, analyzed, and synthesized your data). To write this chapter, you need to conduct literature reviews on the methodological issues involved in qualitative research design. You need to show the reader that you (a) have knowledge of the current issues and discourse, and (b) can relate your study...
