...Project Course Exercise If businesses/organizations are to succeed, it is imperative that there be definitive and attainable objectives and results. The organization will define objectives by looking at the marketplace in which the organization is competing, the core competencies of the organization, recognizing how these can be applied to the goal of success, and then applying the organization's skills and competencies to accomplish the successes. This also means that the organization needs to identify areas it will not pursue – those that are not directly related to the core elements and competencies of the organization. As an example, if a company were focused on developing and manufacturing sporting equipment, it would need to determine if this includes all sporting equipment or a selection of products. Further, the company would need to determine what would be the various levels of support it would provide to its customers. For example, would the company take its equipment directly to the consumers for demonstrations and lessons on how to gain the optimal results with the equipment? All of these types of decisions would be the result of the organization developing a strategy for how it will conduct its business. All of this translates into Strategic Management with the intended result of gaining a competitive advantage in a business niche. Very simply, developing a Strategic Management Plan means having defined what is the best set of results the organization can attain...

Project 460 Final Report

...Priorities CanGo should sustain and possibly increase their productivity outlook at the same time to attract more investors when they open their initial public offer to generate more capital in shoring up the expansion venture. This would require more resources to be committed. 2. Time CanGo should allot enough time for everyone in the company to enhance the success of their expansion. They should set realistic deadlines for all tasks and goals for completion to minimize any possible negative effects of risks due to not having enough time to provide quality outcome. 3. Manpower with Skills CanGo has to hire additional employees or set-up third party contractors to assist and provide additional help, skills and experiences in meeting workloads generated by the expansion venture if needed. ...Team A – One in Diversity Final Report 2011 One in Diversity Members: Janet Knowlden Ximena Garrido Donna Smith Theresa Henderson Robin Lewis Financial Analysis To ensure effective financial forecasting, an owner of a small business firm should have developed a complete set of projected financial statements. These projected financial statements, often times referred to as pro forma financial statements, assist in forecasting future levels of balance sheet accounts as well as profits and anticipated borrowing. Concurrently, projected financial statements become the small business owner's financial plan. (Vrouvas, 1999-2011) The significance of financial planning is that a firm's top leadership is afforded the ability to evaluate their company’s operating performance. Through evaluation and analysis of financial information, senior managers are able to determine how financials affect business decisions and corporate profitability. Additionally, external users of financial data, such as a lender, a customer or a supplier, are able to measure a company's financial healthiness by reviewing its operating data and informational assumptions used in preparing projected financial statements. The function of financial analysis is to provide a corporation's top leadership with information to examine financial statements for many purposes, such as its financial standing and company profitability based on annual reports. “Accurately and honestly communicating your company's strengths...

...Can Go Video Analysis Report Jessica Peace Dustin Peterson Julissa Rivera Mitchell Rodriguez Jesse Sanchez Busn 460 Senior Project DeVry University Professor Mozinski 09/11/2015 Revamped Vision Video Analysis Report 1. CanGo lacks a strategic business plan. A strategic business plan is a clear guide that a business puts together to achieve it business goals and objectives both short-term and long-term (Lorette, n.d.). 2. Corrective action I. 3. To achieve this they must first implement a distinctive mission, vision and value statement. The mission and vision statements are central to the strategic planning process because they provide a company’s reason for existence and what it wishes to achieve. The value statement serves as a moral compass for the company and its staff helping with decision making and forming a standard (SHRM, 2012). Once the mission, vision and value statements are determined we can focus on the next phase of strategic issues that need to be addressed in the planning process. 4. 5. CanGo lacks a defined company culture. While some take their work very seriously, others look at their work as just a job. It is time for CanGo to define their Company Culture. 6. Corrective action II. 7. Having a strong and healthy company culture can create a powerful and long lasting competitive advantage. This kind of advantage is difficult to detect by your competitors, and will become one of the most important motivators...

...Tyrone Ferguson BUS460ON Can Go SWOT Analysis Thank You Letisha, my name is Tyrone Ferguson and I will be discussing the SWOT analysis overview for the Can Go operation. After reviewing Can Go’s operations over the past quarter we have developed a preliminary SWOT analysis. Strengths: * Cost Advantages of Technological Solution Reduction in cost with the implementation of the ASRS, inventory and product management to be integrated into a common ERP and CRM database that will drive potential business growth, by creating a robust technological solution. We want our website to drive people to submit their purchase requests online or pick up the phone to call us to generate sales. The solution will reduce inventory by continually turning product into sales. Lastly rework our production process to yield higher efficiency and cost reduction. * Online Growth Potential Can Go’s has seen large growth in their first two years of operation. It is one of the fastest growing small businesses in the area. Can Go has the ability to offer public shares allowing them, to have much more capital to invest in potential new online products. They can build on that success by continuing to attract more investors. Being publicly traded will give them more exposure in the future. * Product Pricing Can Go will establish sales in a relatively inexpensive range, such as games. Games are often popular regardless of the recession. Selling tunes online versus selling $12-$20 CDs are...
